Destiny & Free Will, Week V [Monday, Period 4]

As the students came in today, they'd probably all be pleased to notice the lack of desks. Instead, there were huge piles of pillows and blankets heaped around, and the television set up in front of the room. Ghanima was showing affection in the best way she knew how, with pastries from JGoB and carafes of coffee and juice from the Perk.

"We'll delay the discussion of the 'omnis' until next week," she said cheerfully, once everyone had picked a spot. "Today, we're watching a movie that involves destiny."

Karla walked over to Savannah and knelt down to give her give her a big hug.

Savannah returned the hug tightly.

"Not entirely ready to talk yet," Karla said, "but let's be friends, okay? I don't think other-me should be the only one who gets to be that lucky."

"Neither am I," Savannah nodded, trying to keep the tears back. "I couldn't think of a better idea," she agreed. "I don't think other me should be the only lucky one, either."

Karla tightened the hug again, sniffling. "If nothing else, this has given me an entirely new appreciation for my friends and those who might be friends," she said. "Thank you, Savannah."

Savannah had no problem with the tightening of the hug, and did the same thing. "Thank you, too, Karla. I don't have all of the words yet... but when I do..."

Sniffle.

"When we do," Karla agreed, finally letting go. "I should find a blanket," she said quietly. "Maybe I could sit near you?"

Not too close. Karla still needed some distance. But closee.

"Anytime, Karla," she answered her question as she let go, too.

Karla grabbed a blanket and pulled it over--close, but not too close--though she didn't sit down quite yet. She had a few other people to greet and hug, first.
