Introduction to World History to 1600 (Terran)

Seimei is sitting at his table, brush moving in quick motions as he wrote a cross the scroll. Even though he is lost in thought, he does gesture to the scroll on the wall behind him.

Discuss Genghis Kahn’s contributions to the Mongol people and the legacy he left behind after his death.

Kahn unifyed the Mongol people, before going on to conquer all of China. However, instead of become a tyrannical dictator after capturing the country, Genghis Kahn let the Chinese live had they had, with no pressure to change their customs or persecution to their religion. He saw that it would be more profitable to force the people to pay a light tax then conquering their culture. Additionally, because he was fair in his taxation, the Chinese people were much less likely to revolt.

When the sultan of Persia killed his ambassadors and refused to trade, Genghis Kahn went to war yet again. He conquered almost all of west Asia, so that the Mongol empire covered almost all of Asia. After restoring the trade route in the west, Khan returned to his home in East Asia only to find the people in China had revolted. He stopped the revolt, but on his way home, he became ill and died.

Kahn left behind great levels of weath. He made advances in military disciplines, such as mobility, psychological warfare, intelligence, military autonomy, and tactics.

Piper wanders into class, listens to the discussion and takes notes.

Belthazor comes to class, visibly aggitated.

Piper peers at Belthazor and asks quietly, "Are you okay?"

"You talk to your sister last night or today?" he asked.

"No, I haven't. Why?" Piper was now concerned for her sister.

"Somebody's been sending her flowers," Belthazor seethed. "With threats against her. And maybe me."

Sakura wanders into class, eyeing Piper and Belthazor oddly for a moment before sliding into a chair and taking notes on the discussion on Genghis Khan. Absently, she begins doodling in the margin of her notepaper, and scowls at the results.

Piper's concern turned into anger. "Someone's been threatening her? Do you have any idea who it might be? If you do, you better tell me."

He shook his head. "I have no idea. But the whoever is doing it is trying to make her move back into the dorms. So now she's being even more stubborn about it."

"Well, I can be just as stubborn, if not more so. I'll do my best to get her to move back in."

Alanna tries to figure out what's more interesting, the discusion about the deadly people or the deadly flowers. The people win.

"Do you have any idea who might be threatening her?" Belthazor asked. "I mean, I want her to move back to the dorms, but I'm not the one doing this. But it looks bad for me."

"I have no idea." She thinks for a moment about what he just said. "I can see how it looks bad for you, but if you say you had nothing to do with it, then I believe you."

"Maybe it's actually someone out to get me," Belthazor mused. "Like that video. I mean, evil demon, I must be a crazed stalker, too, right?" He rolled his eyes. "That's so stupid." And I am not being meta here, not one bit.

"You could actually be right, but, again, who would be after you?" Piper thought about it some more. "You don't think your boss or whatever is doing this, do you?"

Belthazor frowned. "Can't be. He'd be more...direct. I dunno, maybe someone wants Phoebe to think it's me and be afraid of me?"

Piper nodded. "That's certainly possible, too."
