Physical Fitness Made Easy, Period 2 [7/24]

Hannibal was back at the front of the class again, looking relaxed and pleased that he was both teaching and that today was Friday.

"Hey guys, Professor Dukes is MIA again today so you've got me." Weren't they lucky? "Anyway, he left some lesson plans and it looks like we get to play video games with a physical fitness bent. We're going to be playing Wii Boxing."

He gestured to the video game systems that were set up. "The Wii's not just anyone video game system since it's motion controlled and all. It'll give you a pretty damn good workout. Let's see who's a champ in the ring and who's a chuuuuuuuuuump."

Obviously, he thought he'd be kicking ass. Oh, if only. "So, get to it and work up a sweat!"

Kate dropped by at the end of the class, carrying Bobby the penguin. She was surprised - but happy - to see Hannibal there.

"Hannibal? You're the teacher here?"

"Not quite," Hannibal said, shaking his head. "I'm the TA but the teacher's out so I get the honor of teaching while he's not here."

"Lucky you," Kate grinned. "So, anyway, I just came by to make excuses for Bobby, who's too adorable to take classes this week. But you already knew that."

"Still a penguin, Bobby?" Hannibal asked, waving at Bobby. "I'm sure you'll get better soon. But yeah, that's fine. He really can't do Wii Boxing when he's penguin shaped."

Bobby made penguin sounds at him.

"As entertaining as that might be, it's probably best we don't let him try," Kate agreed with a nod.

"He still behaving like a good penguin should?" Hannibal asked. "No penguin shenanigans?"

"Yeah, he's alright, although I think he's getting a little bored," she shrugged. "There's not much to do around here for a wee little guy like him."

"I can understand that," Hannibal agreed. "The novelty kind of wears off after awhile and then you just want your arms and legs and voice back."

"Especially the voice. I missed my voice most of all. Although I think Bobby probably wants his limbs back more... At least as a cat I could move easily." She patted the penguin gently on the head. "You poor thing."

"After he changes back, let's hope you automatically end up a cat again since you two seem to be switching off," he said and laughed.

"...Let's not hope for that. Not even for your amusement."

"I would pretend not to be amused," he promised. "I'd only laugh when no one was looking."

"But I would still know you'd be amused," Kate replied.

"Well, would you be amused if I ended up some animal?" He hoped he hadn't just cursed himself to that fate.

"After this, yes."

"That's fair," he said with a slow nod. "If I do, let's hope I don't end up anything small and girly. Angela would put a bow on me if I did."

There was just a little laugh at that mental image.

"I hope you end up turning into a chihuahua," she noted, matter-of-factly.

"That's not nice!" Oh god, he hoped that didn't happen. "If I change into a dog, I'd better be a bulldog or a Great Dane or something."

"But if you were a chihuahua, you could make friends with Elle's little pooch?" Almost a valid argument. "Can't imagine a bulldog playing too happily with Bruiser."

"And Angela would put a bow on my head and dress me in outfits." Well, the outfits were a stretch but he could so see the bow. "And I'd never live it down."

Tim Riggins

I get ridiculously tired playing Wii Boxing. Not as tired as I do when I'm playing The Force Unleashed but there's wheezing. And I have to take a nap after.

Of course I have to take a nap after I eat a sandwich so...

"Well, at least it would teach you to not laugh at other people's transformations."

A pause for thought. "And it would still be better than turning into cat food."

Hahahahaha, you are so out of shape, Sam. STOP LIVING OFF TACO BELL!

"Yeah, I don't think anything's worse than that and there's absolutely no way not to laugh," Hannibal decided. "Because, really, cat food. I'm sure his week was freaking boring."

Kate nodded. "Yeah. I mean, what does cat food do to pass the time? Can it even think?"

I know omfg. Before I came home from school I could run a 8 minute mile. If I tried that today I'd die.

"I think it might have been worse if he could think," Hannibal decided. "Imagine knowing you were a can of cat food but not being able to do a damn thing about it."

"It would explain his pissy mood at the campfire... Although I guess just being an unconscious can of cat food has the same effect."

"At least we'd really have to work to change into something worse than that," Hannibal said. "I could deal with a devil dog rather than a stupid can of cat food."

"If I have to turn into anything inanimate, I just want it to not be anything anyone or anything will eat," Kate replied.

"You and me both," he agreed. "Though, I'd just as well avoid turning into anything inanimate period. Perfectly happy as a human."

"Human first, other animate things a distant second," she agreed.

"Me and Tybalt tried to let the island know about this preference... But that kinda made us paranoid that it was going to attack us personally."

"Yeah, the island is--" Insane. Weird. Bitchy. Insane. "--unique. And I wouldn't doubt that it could do that."

"After what it's done to me so far, I don't doubt that at all," Kate said, raising her eyebrows.

Bobby made penguin noises. Kate looked at him. "Oh, we should probably get going."

"Thanks for stopping by," Hannibal said, giving Bobby and Kate a smile. "Hope he changes back soon and that he doesn't cause trouble."

Tybalt Capulet

Tybalt probably would have been half decent at this!

... Were the batteries in his Wiimote not dying.

As it stood, there was very little punching on the screen for all of the punching that Tybalt was doing in person. And very, very many colourful insults being thrown at the offending equipment, using such words as 'craven,' 'qualling,' 'half-faced,' and, his favourite, 'villainous.'

It was possible that the insults took more of a workout, actually.

"Yeah, let's hope that," she smiled. "See you around, bye." And with a little wave, off she went.

Elena has a fever of a hundred-and-three!

It followed her movements, to a limited extent. Elena frowned when she realized that the little misshapen figure was only a boxer, and interpreted any martial-arts moves as just another punch. Hmph.
