Surviving Deep Space - Thursday, Period Two - 7/23
Rimmer looked unpleasantly cheerful this morning as the students came in to sit at their desks.
"Well, class, today it seems we'll be doing a theoretical lesson concerning a creature called a 'polymorph'. Other forms, such as the 'emohawk' used by the Kinitawowi, can be quite troublesome as well, but there's really nothing like a wild polymorph.
"They can appear to be anything, from a rubber ball to a screaming hellbeast from the sewers, but most importantly, they act to bring about an especially strong emotional response which they then feed off of and subsequently remove from the victim until the polymorph is destroyed.
"So today, we will be cataloging our strongest, most vulnerable emotions and how we might be able to cope without them."
...worry, he's still smirking.
[ocd up!] [for info on a polymorph, check out here]

Deal with the Polymorph
Suffice to say, though, there are a few Danger Shop-designed polymorphs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GELF#The_Polymorph) around the class that Rimmer didn't tell anyone about.

And Valentine was a genius, so...
She was making sure to remain blithely aware of the fact that anything in the room right now might be eager to turn into a rubber ball or a screaming hellbeast.
Re: Sign In
Re: Listen to the Lecture/Chat
He knew, and he wasn't going to do it. Simple as that.
So he sat back, unobtrusively, and was once again grateful for his relatively unassuming position in class; he kept on his guard for any surprises.
Re: Do the Assignment
Let the polymorphs feed of that.

Re: Listen to the Lecture/Chat
Idly, she wondered if she could smack him. Not whether it was permissible, but actually possible.
She just should have skipped class like she'd thought about doing earlier.

Re: Do the Assignment
She blamed her childhood.
Rather than just stomping out of the room, however, Anemone grabbed her pen almost viciously before jotting down fear of cute puppies, hatred of tasty pie, and terror of nice naps.
There. Let him try to manipulate that.
Re: Do the Assignment
"My my my, that would be a very interesting emotion."

Re: Listen to the Lecture/Chat
He slammed his emotional walls up as high as they could go and assumed a look of bland disinterest.
Re: Do the Assignment
Fear of heights, he wrote down, easily. Fear of snakes.
Then he sat back again.

Re: OOC
They sense what will cause the strongest emotion and turn into something that will aggravate it. For example with Rimmer, it turned into his mother who intimated that she'd been sleeping with Lister and kept telling him how WONDERFUL it'd been. Rimmer finally burst out screaming and the polymorph whapped him and turned him into a total treehugging pacifist.

Re: OOC
So, no objections if Karla totally freaks out and gets melodrama all over the class?

...you almost say that like Liir and Fiona are sane.

Re: Do the Assignment
Danny wasn't going to write any more, because the next thing- fear of losing my loved ones- sounded so cliched.
