The Danger Shop was not a gymnasium this week, although there were fantastic locker room doors just off to the side of the very large indoor shooting range.

"Last week, you ran. Some of you did well, others...should either work on it, or focus on one of the next levels of skills. Because if you can't run away, your next hope is that you can shoot the enemy before they shoot you," Ronon explained.

"But first, you need to get in uniform and get your gear." After students returned from the locker rooms, all the proper safety rules were provided along with goggles and headphones for protection.

Standing at one target station, Ronon then drew his gun from its holster, the weapon hummed audibly showing readiness before he took a shot at the target, which was promptly not much of a target.

"This is an energy rifle. And no, you can't have one." He'd had to kill a lot of Wraith to get his from one of those Traveller people. "It can be set to stun or kill. If someone's chasing me, you're damn straight I'm trying to kill them before they kill me. Don't ask questions, just shoot. On the Earth I know, only military people carry alien technology, so the range here's got your more boring Earth firearms for you to start off practicing with."

And then he went into details about the different types of guns. Detail like, "This is a shot gun." He loaded it and fired it at a target flawlessly. "Got it?"

"Since I've got an energy rifle here and I figure you'd all be as jealous as Sheppard, I managed to get the computer to make up one like mine for you to practice with after you try one other gun."

The uniforms just never got more attractive, did they? Oh well, at least everyone was stuck with them, so Mirax would just go change.

Alex didn't mutter about the uniforms but he wasn't going to stop making faces as he put his on. So freaking juvenile.

Blech. Uniforms. Dressing out, Turtle was contemplating newer, more creative ways to destroy these ones. She used fire last time; maybe the cannons from yesterday might have to be involved this time.

Gwen hurriedly got changed into the uniform.

Liir didn't particularly care, so in the uniform he went.

Jon was going to start vandalizing these uniforms, just wait.

Ronon's actually talking, this is a sure sign some listening, and possibly whispering, should be happening.

When dealing with weapons she wasn't familiar with, Mirax was going to listen, yes. She knew the basics, but she'd really rather not get tripped up on something simple.

...Oh there were no details? All right, she'd wing it.

Alex typically went for weapons that might be lying around (bats, pencils, plates) but he couldn't help but be a little fascinated by Professor Dex's gun.

Even though Turtle already knew guns, she was listening attentively. Guns were, after all, serious business, and they still made her nervous and she was always ready to pick up some new nuance about them that she didn't know before.

Liir listened intently, as this class was one of many he considered Actually Important.

Jon already knows everything, so he'll just stare longingly at Ronon's energy rifle.

Mirax new how to use a blaster, which was why she wanted to get her hands on the energy rifle, figuring it was more like what she was used to. She was a fair shot, nothing impressive, so she figured she'd use one of the simpler Earth firearms, and promptly decided she wasn't a fan. She liked things that didn't give kickback.

Alex went with a simple handgun, finding one that felt right in his hand before aiming it and taking a few shots at the targets. He'd had friends who used these, thought they were fun but he wasn't a fan. He still preferred his fists.

That didn't mean he wasn't a halfway decent shot for not having done it before. He didn't miss his targets or anything.

Turtle tried a few shots with some fancier guns just for the sake of diversifying, but the rest of the time was spent refining her work with the familiar, useful handgun.

Gwen was familiar with handguns, so she picked up an automatic rifle to try out.

She was a more than decent shot with it.

Liir selected a weapon that looked like something he'd seen the Gale Forcers keep with them and started on the target with singular focus.

He was actually a very fine shot.

Jon waited politely for his turn with the energy rifle. Note politely, not patiently.

And then he blew the hell out of the targets with a grin on hif face.

Sam didn't think small arms were going to be much use against the Decepticons--rocket launchers like Lennox's crew had used, maybe, a little. Small arms? Not really--but he decided to give a handgun a shot. He wasn't very good at this, which wasn't surprising, given his total lack of experience.

At least guns were something that Turtle knew; she had that, at least, going for her. She was, however, also unable to avoid ruminating over whether or not, with the new haircut, she could so pull these uniforms off better now.

Ronon's walking around, ready to help anyone who looks like they need it.

He was very... tall. Yes. Merlin wasn't staring too much.

Hopefully.

"Hello?"

Looking him over, Ronon didn't think he knew this one. That meant one thing. More student animals.

"There a problem?"

"Francine had to return home for the week," Merlin said, trying not to stare at the hair now. "She asked me to let her teachers know."

He blinked. "She left?" He leaned to look around Merlin. "Not a rabbit or one of those-" he flapped his hand like wings "-things?"

Merlin had to pause on that one.

"...not unless she knows how to use the phone in that form."

"That's new. So who are you?" Now he was just being nosy.

"Merlin!" That didn't help at all. "Her--" Something something. "Boyfriend."

Ronon grinned, mouth stretching wide and showing teeth. It was his amused face. "Okay Merlin, Francine's boyfriend. You gonna stick around and shoot something?"

I need new icons of Ronon and his gun, omm!
