Dream has wheeled a large-screen TV into the classroom, and stocked a table up front with sodas, popcorn, Twizzlers, Milk Duds and M&Ms.

We're watching movies in class today -- or as much of them as we can before class ends. Classics students, enjoy Gladiator. Languages of Asia students, you're watching Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. We'll finish both films next week.

Help yourselves to the snacks at front. And if you fall asleep ... I reserve the right to pay special attention.

Rogue signs in. As long as Dream hasn't put the movie in ancient Hebrew, she knows today will be a good day.

Anders comes in, helps himself to some candy, purloins the board eraser, and sits back to watch the movie.

Sam signs in and watches the movie. She can't help remembering how ~~Daniel~~ Butthead critiqued the costumes and historical inaccuracies when the movie first came out. Bored by ~~Daniel's~~ Butthead's imaginary critique, she dozes off.

Dream pauses by Sam's desk and, briefly, and so lightly as to not wake her, places a hand on her shoulder. He manifests inside her dream.

Sam is standing at the end of a row of freshly dug graves. Two of them are still empty. Three of the graves are full and have headstones already, but she can't read them--they're in a language she doesn't recognize.

Seeing this, Dream hangs back. He had thought to try to be whimsical, to manipulate the Dreaming to return the students to class, but this ... reminds him why he doesn't do whimsical. Instead, he causes a rosebush to bloom at the foot of each grave.

My sister might be able to help you, he says, softly, allowing himself to fade into the background of the dream. He is there if Sam wishes to talk, but if not, she will feel alone with her grief.

Sam walks forward towards the blooming rosebushes, bending down to sniff their scent. It smells of springtime and fresh dirt and rebirth. Somehow, this makes her even sadder.

She stands in front of the graves, feeling the cold wind blow through her hair, and lets the tears flow down her cheeks.

Sonia signs in, helps herself to a bowl of popcorn and a soda, and settles in to watch the film. Her inner critic can't help but to wonder why a good number of the actors, who are supposed to be Roman, sound rather like British men.

Rory signs in and takes a seat.

Thomasina signs in, takes her seat, and makes herself ready to watch another of these movie things. She thinks the title sounds promising, anyway.

Both twins sign in, snag sodas and snacks (Connor got the Milk Duds, Murphy the popcorn), and find their seats.

Connor sits down and sucks on a milk dud.

A couple of times during the movie, Murphy swipes a candy or two from his brother.

The thievery is shortly followed by holding his popcorn where Connor can return the favor.

And he does, snatching handfulls of popcorn at a time.

*Jack signs in and tries to enjoy the movie but it doesn't hold his interest much. Unlike his fellow Refugees though he manages to stay awake. Somehow.*
