There had been a *handwavy* notice for all the students to meet at the shooting range for class today. When the class arrived all the safety gear was laid out for them and several examples of fire arms were laid out on the table.

He also made sure the rules were posted and read off every one to the students. It was clear he was not going to tolerate any foolishness today.

SAFETY RULES:

· TREAT ALL GUNS AS IF THEY WERE LOADED

· KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL READY TO FIRE

· BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT’S BEYOND

· ALWAYS WEAR HEARING AND EYE PROTECTION

· NEVER USE ALCOHOL OR DRUGS BEFORE OR WHILE SHOOTING.

· CHECK IN ALL WEAPONS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE RANGE.

"You violate any of those rules?" Gibbs said giving all the students a hairy eyeball, "Or even point a gun at something other than the target, so help me I'll smack you in the head and throw you in detention so fast it'll make your head spin."

"That being said, what we have here today is a .22 revolver, a 9mm automatic handgun and a sniper rifle. In law enforcement you use these weapons for self-defense or the defense of others. That is the only reason you should draw your gun in the field."

And if anyone from NCIS heard Gibbs say that they'd probably die laughing. Right up to the point where he'd smack their head.

"Now if it comes down between you and your opponent? That should be the only time you should shoot to kill. And when that happens, do not mess around with the target. Aim for the head or chest. Otherwise aim for a non critical part of the body. Knees. Shoulders. They may not walk or use their arms right again but it's better to send some people to jail where they can rot away than to give them the easy way out."

Gibbs then went through the process of loading each gun, firing them and unloading a gun for everyone to see. When this was all done he again read off all of the safety rules. Again.

"All right," he said now looking satisfied, "Let's see how good you all are with these."

Take notes. Chat. Wonder why Gibbs is being such a pain in the ass about the rules today.

Feel free to use any of the weapons Gibbs has provided (.22, 9mm, Sniper Rifle) or use some of your own. And mingle of course.

Who don't need guns in their day to day jobs.

'Cuz he's a cuddly fluffy bear who just needs to be hugged.

Only not.

Gibbs totally believes in shooting only in self-defense.

Unless it involves Ari.

Or certain drug dealers.

Or a mass-murdering park ranger making his get away.

Or... Okay there's a really long list of him being a hypocrite here.

Rachel Roth, who does not have any guns omg

Having been raised a pacifist, Raven recoiled at the thought of guns. She was not pleased to be here today.

"Is there a problem, Ms. Roth?" Gibbs asked quietly when the lecture was done.

"I was raised to abhor violence," Raven confessed. "I am uncomfortable around guns."

Gibbs nodded as he kept an eye on the other students. "I can respect that," he replied. "And I won't force you to do anything you don't want. Though you do realize it's a good idea to have some knowledge of self-defense, right?"

"Yes," Raven said. "Those of my home will not even go so far as to defend themselves using any form of violence, but I have never been able to embrace that belief as completely as they have. Some things are worth fighting for and against." Like, say, her father.

Dinah Lance, who has no gun either

Dinah's experience with Gun Club allowed her to be a decent if not excellent shot by now, although she realized she needed to practice more often.

"So, if that's the case," Gibbs said slowly, "What are you going to do if you are attacked?"

Hyuuga Hinata, with no guns as well

Hinata's eyes glittered with something that looked a great deal like irritation during the lecture, though she kept her gaze mostly fixed on her notes.

She didn't like guns at all.

"Problem Hinata?" Gibbs asked.

Lois Lane

"It's n-not my place to say," she said, staring down at her desk. "You are the t-teacher."

"You can have an opinion," Gibbs said quietly but sternly. "Spill it."

Hinata quailed, but started talking, "I do not think i-it's appropriate to be teaching weapons," she said staring at her desk, "when it is only for one class and hardly a p-proper training session at all. Guns a-are too easily abused, and no weapon should be treated so lightly to think that o-one class is enough training in it."

Her eyes flickered up and then away. "It's i-irresponsible of the sensei, and a danger to others."

"I have certain...gifts," Raven said. "Ones that will aid me in evading a fight or calming my opponent."

Gibbs straightened his posture and gave her a stern look. "If there's one student here that thinks that they are qualified to use a gun after one session here then they are a complete idiot," Gibbs replied. "And if you don't think I went over the use of guns and the appropriate safety for using them here then you weren't listening."
