Art of Seduction [Wednesday, Period Four]

Bond stood at the front of the class as if the previous week's class had not happened, and as far as he was concerned it hadn't. Repression was a wonderful thing, wasn't it?

"Good afternoon class," he began. "In light of this weekend's upcoming dance, I thought I'd spend this lesson talking about dancing. Dancing, ballroom dance in particular, has often been associated with sex and seduction, often because it was one of the few socially acceptable forms of close physical contact between unmarried members of the opposite sex. Even though there are less of those kind of restrictions these days, it's still a good excuse to get close to your partner."

"Popular ballroom dances include, but are not limited to the waltz, tango, the foxtrot, and the the rumba," Bond said, showing a short clip of each dance. "Now, given that it is out last class together, you have the choice of either watching a film about the connection between dancing and love, or you may find a partner and try your hand at dancing."

If 'troopers' means 'using class time to play out their personal drama', then yes. Troopers. But they looked good doing it.

Jack was there, idly thinking about what he'd want to say to Dinah.

Emma was always a trooper; she put up with her classmates and didn't laugh at their attempts to flirt. She was counting this class as a 'win' in her book.
