Basketball- 6th Period- Class #7

Awww, last day of class. These made Lily sad when there wasn't a summer vacation off to look forward to. "First of all, guys," she said, "I want to apologize profusely for my husband last week ~~even if the mun's day didn't allow for chair throwing~~. He comes from a different place and time." Yeah, the Midwest. "But since this is our last class, today we're going to have a game. And after that, you all get a special surprise!"

And that was it. She didn't assign teams or anything. They'd work things out, or not. She'd play guitar and make sure no one got too rambunctious.

Hannibal didn't know how much of a game they could get going but he figured two on two might work. And it'd be pretty evenly matched.

Yakko came from the same animation studio as Bugs Bunny. That's why he somehow managed to play 2 on 2 both with and against himself. Not multiple Yakkos. Just the one of him.

The odd part wasn't that he would pass the ball to himself, try for a layup, then jump up and block the shot to himself. The odd part wasn't that he was wearing different jerseys for the two teams, expertly switching between them every time he was playing a different part.

No, the weird part was that he was also the cheerleader.

At the end of the game (however that turned out), Lily said, "And for being such a great class and working so hard, I have a surprise for all of you: Trophies!" She held up one of them, a small fake metal gold trophy with their names on the little plaques. "Come on up and accept it when I call your name!"

"First up, Adora!" Lily said, holding out the trophy for the girl.

"Thank you so much!" Adora could cry accepting her trophy, she was so touched that her teacher cared that much about her basketball skills and how much she'd learned from the workshop. "This is such a special moment!"

"Next is Hannibal!" She said, holding out the next trophy for acceptance. It was a happy coincidence that everyone was alphabetical by both first and last name (if they had one) so no one had to feel they were being ranked.

Hey, he got a trophy for this! Not having expected that, Hannibal actually laughed as he went up to accept his reward. He could deal with classes that gave him prizes.

"And next, Tim!" You know how this went by now, with the holding out of the trophy, right?

This class was ridiculous but Riggins wasn't about to turn down a trophy. He said a mumbled "Thanks, ma'am" to Lily as he accepted his award.

"And last but certainly not least, Yakko!" This one scared her a little, she had to admit.

"Thank you," Yakko said, keeping his hands behind his back. "But I have something for you, too!"

"You do?" asked Lily, both touched and afeared.

"They were out of basketball coach trophies," Yakko explained, pulling a trophy that was bigger than him from behind his back in a clear mockery of physics. The trophy had a gold-plated tooth on it. It said "WORLD'S GREATEST DENTIST."

"If you were a dentist, I'm sure it would be true!"

It was the thought that counted. "Why thank you, Yakko," she said. "I'll treasure it always."

Or Marshall would give it to the cockamouse for a toy. Either way!

Who I'm sure you're all glad to be escaping.

On one hand, it's Monday.

On the other, EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE IT'S ALMOST TUESDAY.

WE JUST HAVE TO MAKE IT THROUGH TODAY.
