"Today is our last class. I've very much enjoyed our time here, so while, as I said, I wanted all of you to do your presentations today-- and that is not canceled--" Sophie smiled. "You may do them on whatevery you wish. Why you should be President. Your Oscar acceptance speech for Best Actor, Actress, or F/X Coordinator. Your reasons on why we should all convert to Jainism. A monologue from Shakespeare's Amleth. Have at it!"

"And please have some of the muffins and cookies here. I hope to see some of you in the class I hope to be teaching next semester. And of course, those of you who are in the play-- I'll see you tomorrow."

It wasn't that Gabrielle hadn't been able to come up with a speech. That wasn't the problem.

The problem, as might be made abundantly clear by the half dozen or so scrolls she'd unrolled onto her desk and was looking between as she burned through muffins like candy, was picking one of the ones she'd come up with.

"You've been busy," Serena liked Gabrielle, for the little they'd talked in class. "How many do you have there?"

Gabrielle gave her a sheepish look. "A few?" She'd left a half dozen speeches she'd decided she didn't like back in her room, even.

Whereas Serena had written two, and had them both here. Her question was teasing, though. "You're good at this. Are you sure you should be taking this class?"

"I like to write," Gabrielle protested with a self-conscious chuckle. "And I like to tell stories. There's always room for improvement."

"You're good at it," Serena was quick to smile and reassure her, "everything that I've seen you do has been great."
