Criminal Justice: Wednesday

The danger shop had be returned to the MTAC setting as it was a few weeks ago. Gibbs marched in just as the bell rank with a tray of coffee and another tray of something called "Caf-Pow!"

"Sit," he commanded as he laid down the trays and selected a cup of coffee for himself. "Let's go over what we've done so far. We've gathered the evidence. You've apprehended the bad guys and you've worked on interrogation. Now it's time to review what we've learned so far."

"Since we could not arrange for you to interview the actual suspects, I'll relay the information learned during their interrogation sessions."

"Kevin Holt. No alibit for the time of the murder. Voluntarily submitted his DNA thinking we had physical evidence to the crime. Other than the sex wax used for his surfboard we have no link. However we were able to prove that Mr. Holt is the father of Petty Officer Jordan's child. Mr. Holt also described his girlfriend as being extremely jealous of other women."

"Lisa Kerr. No alibi for the time of the murder. Suspect also admitted to finding the voice mail left on her boyfriend's phone by Petty Officer Jordan. No witness tying her to the murder site and as of right now we have no physical evidence linking her to the murder. One thing to note: Ms. Kerr is also a surfer."

"And finally Jonathan Redding who would be our stalker," Gibbs said finally taking a sip of his coffee. "Mr. Redding was at the beauty pageant during the time of Petty Officer Jordan's murder. The camera's had him in sight the entire time."

Gibbs straightened up his posture and scanned the class. "What I want to hear from you now is your opinions on who the culprit might be and why. Good answers get you a beverage. Bad one's will get... well they won't get beverages. Who's up first?"

Rose doodled on a piece of paper as she considered the options. She also was just daydreaming but considering the options sounded better.

Hinata took notes and considered her past notes thoughtfully.

While jotting down a thing or two about the refresher, Turtle was also going through her very extensive previous notes, considering very, very carefully.

Momoko listened carefully and took notes on each of the suspects. She really wanted to catch the killer, but she was glad that she wasn't a police officer. This was harder than being a superhero.

"I'm still thinking Holt," Rose said. "Yeah, he gave the DNA sample voluntarily, but why is he trying to push suspicion off onto his girlfriend? Is there anyone else who supports that argument? Cause otherwise it just sounds like a last ditch thing to throw you off track."

"I think it's Lisa Kerr," Ben said quietly. "She doesn't have an alibi for the time of the murder, she's a woman so getting into the bathroom wouldn't have been something that would be commented on, and the surfing explains the wax we found at the crime scene."

"Volunteering one's self for comparison against physical evidence doesn't prove one's innocence," Alice said thoughtfully. "Especially not if one could have taken the precaution of hiring someone for the killing, though in that case, the gentleman would have to be rather stupid to not arrange for an alibi."

She glanced up, seeming to consider something. "Do we have any evidence that indicates premeditation?" she asked. "A surfer goes into the bathroom, and spies there the friend who is betraying her trust. She has the surfboard in her arms, not wanting to abandon it while powdering her nose. She wishes that her once-friend would choke on that vomit and die. And realizes she has the power to make that happen."

"I think it's Lisa Kerr." Diana said with a lot of confidence. "She has no alibi, plenty of motive - which I think she lied about, and she would have had no problem going into the woman's bathroom. Also, the victim was drowned from the back, so a woman is a more likely suspect." Like any other person who was bored in the afternoon, Diana had watched Crime and Punishment Law and Order.

"Holt," Jennifer decided, after thinking about it for a moment. "I think he was trying to throw suspicion off himself with submitting DNA and thinking he'd covered his tracks enough. Plus, he tried to throw suspicion on his girlfriend."

"Lisa Kerr. Like everyone's said, she could've gotten in and out of the restroom the most easily, the physical evidence points to her as well as her boyfriend, and she knew where the victim was supposed to be." Dinah paused. "Jealousy is a pretty good motive, and she could blend in with the crowd at the Miss Spring Break competition pretty easily when she left, even if she'd gotten wet while drowning Petty Officer Jordan. It's a minor point, but those wet footprints leaving the scene suggest the murderer didn't look perfectly neat and tidy."

Mr Redding was on camera the whole time so we know he couldn't have done it or we'd have seen him. Or, I mean, we wouldn't see him." Momoko reviewed her notes, flipping through the pages of her notebook as she spoke. "And Mr Holt voluntarily gave his DNA when we said we had evidence, and it seems weird that he would kill her in a women's bathroom instead of asking her to meet him somewhere."

She looked up. "I think the girlfriend, Ms Kerr, definitely is suspicious. She could have seen the Petty Officer and followed her into the restroom to talk or something and got mad."

It was weird watching Gibbs make out with a murderer on my TV last night. Just saying.
