"Today we dress our alteregos!" Edna announced, "and before you ask, no what you are wearing right now will not do." She glanced at a few particularly horrifying examples in the class Claudia and shuddered. "Your job, when you are not being a superhero, is to blend into the background! To be completely unremarkable! To have your neighbors, if asked, reply 'I have no idea who that person is!' when asked!"

She smiled and flung her hands towards the many, many racks of clothing. Nothing plaid, darlings. She has standards, and you don't need to look like a hobo to be unremarkable. "So you will pick out ensembles for each other! Twenty-first century style, please. You want to blend in, not look like a crazy escapee from the Renaissance Festival."

"Within reason." Of course, considering that Jo thought a knife was a vital accessory, that couldn't go at all wrong.

Claudia found a far, far too brightly patterned scarf, some enormous hoop earrings, and a chainmail belt. "Better!"

Jo wondered briefly if Claudia was actually an alien of some sort, it would explain a few things. "It's a start, but maybe we should dial it back, just a little."

"Fiiine," Claudia sighed. Jo was in so much trouble when her outfit was being decided on.

Jo was still sure she could talk her way out of getting dressed. This optimism was probably completely unfounded.

"Maybe go for a solid colour for the scarf," Jo suggested, picking out a red one that was bright without being neon.

"That's not terrible," Claudia allowed, tying the scarf into her hair where it, typically, looked adorable.

It was her superpower.

"Maybe smaller earring too. Less chance of them getting caught on something and tearing out." Jo actually liked the chain-mail belt, but then she was a little bit kinky twisted.
