Basketball- 6th Period- Class #5

Lily was still looking happy this morning when she greeted the class. "Hi, everyone! Hope you all had a good weeke- Um." Probably best not to discuss that with the students. "Anyway, today we're going to work on free throws a little. If you want. You do whatever you want but this is just a suggestion. You just go right up to that line and see if you can make more shots than that Shaq guy."

Yes. That Shaq guy.

Or not. Whatever.

Hannibal grabbed a ball and found the free thrown line. Since his mind was still on last night and what had happened, his aim was a little more off than usual.

Adora wasn't doing too terribly with the free throw thing. It was all about figuring out the right positioning for her.

Yes, she totally pulled out her book to look up the proper form.

"You got really good at that really quick," Hannibal observed from where he was dribbling his basketball.

"It's all about practice and form," Adora told him with a knowing smile. Yes, she totally listened to radio. Awww!

"...you're really smiley," he said. "What's up?"

Adora grinned some more. "Just pleased for my friends! From radio last night, both you and Tim have wonderful news!"

"Tim has wonderful news?" he asked, looking over at Tim. "And I didn't know my...news made it."

"Yes! He's clean!" Adora said, knowledgeably while not knowing what that meant. "And Angela loves you!" So sigh worthy, this.

Hannibal snorted because he knew what clean meant. "And, uh, yeah, she does." Clearly, that was still boggling him. And making him blush.

"Aww, and now you're getting all red! I thought that was my job when we talked," she teased.

"Yeah, well," he said and hid his face behind the ball. "It's kind of new for me."

Adora had yet to say such words herself, and yet. "But love is wonderful, isn't it?"

"Love is...unfamiliar," he said and shook his head. "I didn't even say it back."

He felt it, he knew it, he just...failed.

"Oh!" That changed things. "Does that mean you...don't?"

"...no," he said slowly and quietly. "I just couldn't find the words."

Her heart swelled with the internal awwing for her friend. She threw a ball at his stomach. "So find them!"

Hannibal dropped his ball in order to protect his stomach but that still got an, "Oof," out of him.

"That's easier said than done," he told her and threw the ball back.

She caught the ball with one hand. "Is it a difficult thing to say?" Try it and learn, Adora.

"Have you said it to Eddie?" he asked. "Have you said it out loud about him?"

Uh oh. "Um, no."

Cue Adora attempting to dribble past Hannibal to avoid his eyes.

He let her go by but that doesn't mean he wasn't waiting for her to turn back around.

"Do you love him?"

She didn't turn around, taking a shot at the basket and missing it, shockingly.

"Of course." Adora loved all her friends, Hannibal.

"Say it, then," he challenged, watching the back of her head.

Adora turned to give him a look. "Then I will."

"Say it now," he said, tucking the ball under his arm. "Tell me you love Eddie."

"Fine. I lo-" Why was it so difficult. Adora gasped, "Hannibal King, did you curse those words?"

"What?" he asked, boggling. "Adora, wouldn't you be able to tell if I had some mystic powers like that?"

"No, I can't sense powers," she reminded him. "How did words become so difficult?"

"They're big words," he told her, nodding. "Gotta mean them."

She frowned, "This is a complicated situation, my friend."

"You don't have to love him right now," Hannibal told her. "You have time. Maybe it'll...come in the future."

"But I do! I love all of my friends and family." Oh Adora.

"Romantic love is not the same as friend love," he said. Even he knew that.

Hmm. "This is going to require some thought."

"You and me both," he said and laughed. "I'm about halfway there. So, you know, getting there."

"Good luck to you. I expect to hear about it when you do," she decided. "Even if it makes Chuck Bass ill."

Hannibal snorted and said, "Most things do. Thank you. Good luck to you too."

Yakko had one of those T-shirt cannons that you see at basketball games. He was firing t-shirts at the basket from the free throw line.

His aim was not very good. But at least anyone who got hit would get a t-shirt!

She's got the guitar out again.

"Oh Ms Allllllllldrin?" Yakko asked. "Want a t-shirt?"

Yakko launched one straight into the air. It didn't come down.

Lily looked up for the shirt, wondering if she was supposed to get it somehow. "Uh. I think that's okay, Yakko. But thank you."

LAST WEEK WAS NOT LONG ENOUGH. I say this because I didn't play Lily at all EVEN WHEN CARPET SAMPLES WERE SUGGESTED. That's twice I've missed that now.
