My Life as a Buddy Movie | Period 2 | Wednesday | June 3

For some reason, getting out of bed and heading to his way too fucking early class had been a lot easier for Loki today. In fact, everything felt a little easier and he even looked more relaxed while waiting on the students to file in. Once they had, he didn't even move from his sprawled position to start the lecture.

"Compromise," he said airily, "is one of the cornerstones of working with someone. I mean, you very well can't have any kind of good working relationship without some push and pull from both sides."

And that innuendo hadn't come out accidentally. Huh. Loki smiled at the class, almost genuine today. He liked his class. He really did.

"Compromise is the finding agreement through communication through mutual terms of acceptance. You're finding a fucking middle ground and you're sticking to it. If you refuse to compromise, you're probably going to be labeled as a power hungry freak who's close minded and restrictive and no one's going to want to work with you."

He'd known people like that.

"And I wouldn't want any of you to be labeled that," he said with a bigger grin. "I'm sure most of you are used to getting what you want but partnerships require you to set that aside. You can't put yourself fucking first or it's going to become a dictatorship, not a partnership and I really don't want to work with someone who tries to fucking order me around. You must be willing to give things up in order to come to the best possible solution for the both of you. You have to flexible. You have to be willing to bend and push and pull. That's how compromise works."

Flexibility was one of his most favorite things in the entire fucking world, oh yes.

"For today, I want you to be flexible with another person. Compromise. Bend. Give and take. What are you compromising about? Let's say...you and your partner share a room. And you both need it that night for some...special time with a special friend. You're going to have to convince your partner that you need the room. Come to a compromise with each other. Work the kinks out. Talk to each other. Communicate."

Loki's mind was really stuck on flexibility, apparently.

Once the lecture was completed, Loki gestured for them to get started and kept an eye on the class.

"And that's because," said Daisy with a little bit of a laugh, "I eat so well. See it all ties in together, Loki."

"I do," Daisy agreed. "You do an awful lot of things well, too, Loki..."

"Very close," Daisy agreed emphatically. "And I usually like what I see."

....guh.

"Easy fix," said Daisy, "that one."

"Really," Daisy nodded, an action that worked nicely to lean in a little herself, face tilted toward Loki's as she grinned. "I mean, our classes are over. School's out for us now..."

"I was going to go into work," Daisy said with a faint smile. And with firm resolve. She was going to go in. She knew that Coop didn't expect her to on Wednesdays, but, damn it, she was especially not skipping it because she was too busy...elsewhere. She bit her lower lip, though, as looking up into Loki's eyes made it rather difficult to want to stick to that conviction. "But I don't need to be in until afternoon at least. That's....oodles of time."

Daisy closed her eyes for a moment and her brain said kiss him, kiss him, kiss him!, but she held back, relishing way too much in how intense holding back felt. "Well how could I say no to that?" asked Daisy. "If there's healthy food."

They could be donuts and she wouldn't caaare.

"All night?" asked Daisy, eyebrows lifting because any other movement risked breaking up this very nice little thing they had between them right now. "What if I had plans? If I feel like going out tonight?"

Daisy may have squirmed a little. "Well," she said with a breath-catch of a sigh, "I'd hate to make you just...settle on my behalf."

"Keep me from getting bored, will you? All night's awfully...long..."

Daisy bit her lip a moment, which helped fight down the smirk trying to surface. "So you've been holding out on me."

"Oh, yes," Daisy agreed, with a slow nod that reminded her just how close they were right now. "You'd be very right there...."

"I am only in this for the volunteer bit," Daisy pointed out, her eyes on Loki's with the suggestion that she was thinking about it, oh yes, and then she smirked. "We're just lucky it'll probably spill over to my other job."

She went to brush her hands up his chest, to grab a tight hold on his shirt. "Come on."
