phases_of_kitty? I'm giving you TA status based on your ability to handle Shi'ar technology. You'll be the technical TA.

The rest of you? One of you will be dealing with students and if you want... coming up with class ideas.

Unfortunately, on closer inspection it turns out that the door to the refrigerator has become wedged in on the open side and won't open further.

After a moment of swearing in Russian (thanks, Liz!), Sam uses the Swiss Army Knife to remove the hinges on the refrigerator, so she can open it from the opposite side.

"Ketchup packets, soy sauce packets, peanut butter, *ew*, and yes!" She pulls forth a box of odor-absorbing baking soda, triumphant.

She walks carefully over to the slowly hissing tank. "Okay, then." She sprinkles the baking soda onto the acid that has fallen onto the floor, then adds more to the leak site, neutralizing the acid as it escapes.

She then retreats to the other side of the room to watch the white foam and wait for it to subside, so she can get a mop.

She sees the broken vending machine and grabs a bag of Skittles, depositing seventy cents. She climbs up on one of the lab tables and munches as she waits (and waits) for dissipation. There's a lot of white foam.

When it looks like the leak has stopped, Sam grabs a pile of paper towels and wipes down the site of the leak. She returns to the refrigerator, unwraps an extremely ancient-looking sandwich, and begins folding the used plastic wrap into a tight, thick rectangle that is just the right size to cover the leak. She throws the sandwich in the "biohazard" bucket, then walks back over to the tank.

She rips a few strips of duct tape of equal length off the roll and sticks their ends to her arm. Then, she holds the plastic square in place against the leak and pulls off a piece of pre-torn duct tape, taking some hair with it. "Ow."

Once the first piece of duct tape is in place, she then proceeds to tape the plastic "patch" to the leak, with a series of "ow"s every time she removes a piece of tape from her arm. "Huh," she says, admiring her handiwork, "I think that worked."

She then pulls out a mop and bucket, cleans up the mess, returns her goggles to the station where she found them, puts her sweatshirt back on, and perches herself on top of the lab table, Skittles in hand, to wait for Mac.

~~And has fond, passionate daydreams about running her fingers through his soft, shiny mullet until he shows up.~~

~~Raises eyebrow at subtext. Hmmm.~~

Mac steps in.

"Good job Carter. I'll be announcing my results on Monday."

Flips a couple switches and the room goes back to normal except for the other TA's.

Sam hopped off the desk and threw out her wrapper. "Thanks, Mac. This was fun." She reloaded her pockets ~~and was mesmerized by the beautiful (and masculine) mullet.~~

~~*Blushes* Stop it! *Giggles and flops his mullet around*~~
