phases_of_kitty? I'm giving you TA status based on your ability to handle Shi'ar technology. You'll be the technical TA.

The rest of you? One of you will be dealing with students and if you want... coming up with class ideas.

Mac throws a switch and John finds himself in a hallway righ in front of an executive's office. There's a wet bar and other typical stuff you would find in an office. The hallway is decorated with modern furniture, plants and there's a door to a broom closet.

Mac points to laser eyebeams that stand right in front of the entrance to the office and a picture behind the executive's desk.

"You need to find a way to get past the security system here and break into the electronic lock of a safe behind the picture in the office"

Mac hands John a virtual swiss army knife and a roll of duct tape.

[OOC: Feel free to use your imagination of what is in the room, but try and keep it limited to what might be in a hallway/office process facility. I'll be checking in throughout the day to see how you do. ]

okay, so... the broom closet and the wet bar are in the lobby of the office?

John opened the broom closet and pulled out the spray bottle of cleaner. Misting it in front of the doorway, he revealed the web of laser beams between Our Hero and the doorway. Taking a nearby fiber optic fake plant, he pulled several of the fiber optic tubes out and taped them together to make a single tube long enough to stretch across the doorway with enough slack to wiggle through. He reached through, jimmied the lock open with a credit card, and stopped.

"That's as far as I go, Teach. Don't have equipment to hack an electronic lock. If it was a combo, I could use the phone, but unless I short it out and risk seizing the mechanism, I got bupkis."

You sure about that? Maybe there's a way to short out the lock?

[OOC:I would think that if you could hack an ATM at 15 you could do something reasonable here.]

((Yeah, but that was with something that they carried into the room. And the mun doesn't know anything about electronic locks and hasn't seen this particular episode.))

"Yeah, I was wondering if this thing would blow out the mechanism..."

JOhn takes a closer look at the keypad and notices that there's a different metal type. He takes the SAK and pokes and prods, and reveals 4 tiny screws hidden behind some plastic facia.

"Well, that's a crap design."

He loosens the screws and pulls off part of the keypad, revealing 9 wires that dissapear into a hole in the case.

John swears.

He tries a new tactic. Going back to the broom closet, he gets a pair of thick rubber gloves. PUtting them on, he unplugs the desk lamp and cuts the cord at the lamp and trims the ends to bare wire. Plugging it back in, he approaches the safe.

Placing one wire on the body, he braces himself to touch the other briefly to the front of the safe as he closes his eyes and looks away.

After some spectacular fireworks, John separated the wires and pulled the plug. Still wearing his rubber gloves, he pulled on the handle of the safe.

It opened.
