"Today we will begin the most important part of your costumes!" Edna announced as she wheeled in a hanging rack full of spandex body suits. Oh, you lucky people, you. (Don't ask how that last one snuck in there. It had been a Very Terrible Costume Concept.) "Measurements!"

She ignored any horrified looks or attempts to hide under tables. "Ms. Davis, my assistant," she nodded at Brooke, "and I will be measuring you so that the costumes you create for yourselves will fit! While you are waiting, come up with two preliminary concepts for your ensemble--include your logo from last week on one of them--and then ask a fellow student to critique!"

She made shooing motions. "Go! Scatter! Create!" She pointed at one student at random. "Except you. You get to wear Spandex first, darling."

"Apparently one of his names is the Pied Piper," she said with a shrug.

"We read the story in one of the books we found in the basement; it's the only reason Eliot tried his violin on the rats in the first place."

She breathed in and out.

"And I can explain about my mother. Just not here?"

It was just a little public.

"Not a problem," Dinah said instantly. "And... hunh. That would make a weird kind of sense." The devil offering a devil's bargain, and taking payment if it was withheld. "Whenever you like, though."

"Sure. Like I said, I'm meeting Griff, but... I'm free pretty much the rest of the day. And, um, we're still on for tomorrow, aren't we?"

The whole thing had bits of her former shyness coming out at the worst of times. She was going to tell an authority figure about her whole--

What if they kicked her out? What if--

No use worrying. If they do, they do. If they don't, they don't. You'll just have to see what happens.

"Definitely," Dinah said, smiling encouragingly. "Don't worry. I'll be right there." Not even thinking of her Fiona getting kicked out for being what and who she was; maybe trusting in the administration a little too much, but mostly just thinking that if demons attacked again, Fiona would need all the back-up she could get.
