"Today we will begin the most important part of your costumes!" Edna announced as she wheeled in a hanging rack full of spandex body suits. Oh, you lucky people, you. (Don't ask how that last one snuck in there. It had been a Very Terrible Costume Concept.) "Measurements!"

She ignored any horrified looks or attempts to hide under tables. "Ms. Davis, my assistant," she nodded at Brooke, "and I will be measuring you so that the costumes you create for yourselves will fit! While you are waiting, come up with two preliminary concepts for your ensemble--include your logo from last week on one of them--and then ask a fellow student to critique!"

She made shooing motions. "Go! Scatter! Create!" She pointed at one student at random. "Except you. You get to wear Spandex first, darling."

"You have to come out of the dressing room," Edna replied, rolling her eyes. "Must we re-enact that horrible sixties song about the tiny bikini? The sooner you come out, the sooner you can change out of the suit and back into your hobo clothes."

Which was enough to make Dinah glare at the curtain, then come out of the dressing room, standing with arms out, ready to be measured. Not looking at anyone. With the boots, she was now twice the height of Edna, and feeling ridiculous.

"Very reasonable of you, darling," Edna said dryly as she dragged a stepstool over and began measuring. "Any thoughts to color? Canary yellow is far too garish for an overall look."

"Hmmm. Red?" Dinah frowned. "Although I might end up looking like a traffic sign. Um." She shook her head, peering down at Edna's efforts. "Black's classic. And I'd be doing a lot of night work."

"Night work of the crime fighting variety, yes?" Edna replied. "Because standing on a corner is not exactly a career choice I design for."

"God no," Dinah blurted, then said, "I mean yes! To the crimefighting. Not to the other." No matter what Helena dressed like sometimes. Dinah was going bright pink above all that white and fervently wishing she'd gone with the burqa idea she'd suggested to Francine. "Rooftops, dark alleys, deserted parks. That kind of thing."

"Banks in the process of being robbed, et cetera," Edna said, nodding and scribbling numbers. "Very exciting."

"Yes!" Dinah bounced on her heels, then corrected for the boots. "Um. And boots that maybe don't have spike heels. These aren't going to be easy to run in."

"You'll get used to it," Edna replied. "It elongates the calf. Very slimming."

Dinah looked down at herself, thinking of bondage queens and dominatrixes. "I have slim calves already," she muttered. "And supervillains like this stuff too much."

"That is because supervillains know how to work their assets," Edna said wisely. "And sometimes because they are kind of trashy."
