It's a new day gang

I understand we have some scheduling problems in here. I tell ya what...if you work diligently and talk to me directly if you feel you're falling behind, those of you in Padme's class can leave at quarter til. The rest of us will do body shots finish up any work and talk about what problems or questions have come up.

Ok, this being our first class, I'd like you all to introduce yourselves. Yes you must stand up at the front of the class. Clutch the lectern if you must. In a mini speech, impromptu, sell yourselves to the class. Where are you from? What's your life been like? (please no innapropriately personal details that may make uothers feel uncomfortable) What is your favorite food, hobby, etc? MOST IMPORTANTLY...why are you worth listening to? You will be making persuasive speeches, what makes you think you can do this...justify yourself and your authority.

I see most of you are also in 301, so you'll have sort of met already. Ok, comfortable? Go then.

Sorry about yesterday folks, it was one of those things you can't say no to. OK, so yesterday you got your first impressions out of the way. I wonder how many of you convey your true self through expression and body language. Well, let's find out. I want you to introduce yourself to the class. Stand up and tell us any and all details you want us to know. Got a cool story? Tell it. Feeling reserved? You don't have to say much. Since only I know what you turned in yesterday, only I and the writers will know if the impressions were correct.

This is establishing a trusting environment so we can productively handle sender/reciever relationships, meta-messges, persuasuion tactics, and all other manner of manipulative language, propaganda, and verbal evasion communication.

Okay, kids...let's go.

Chip, you go first, and keep it cleaner than yesterday.

Hullo everyone, Lily here. I'm excited to be in this course - I enjoy learning all sorts of things, but I've been especially interested in Interpersonal Communications as of late. I really feel like there's a whole lot of conversation going on, but it's very rare to find that the people conversing are actually listening to one another. I think a great many of the worlds misunderstandings arise only because people cannot commit the energy into really being there and fully knowing each other and their thoughts. I also wish people would step back and really think about what it is that they are trying to say before speaking, in order to give others something worth hearing.
