How to Dress Like a Pop Star [Class 1] [Period 3] [5/15]
Class met in the Danger Shop, for various important reasons. One, it gave Vince the ability to manufacture lots and lots of moddable clothes for the students. Two, it meant Vince could have a classroom that looked more like a discotheque with multicolored light up floors and ceiling. Three, it allowed for changing rooms with full length mirrors on three sides.
Vince had his priorities.
"Right!" he declared, once the small (but intimate) class had gathered. It was of note that he wore a black t-shirt, a furry leopard print jacket, red leather trousers, and white boots with 'Vince' bedazzled on them. "Welcome to the first step in becoming absolute fashion icons. I'm Vince Noir, as you probably already knew. There are signed photos for each of you, over on the table there." He gestured.
"I don't really need an introduction, but I'll give you one anyway. I'm magnificent. There, introduction over. Now how about you all tell me a bit about yourselves?"
After the students did their introduction thing, Vince launched into a quick lecture.
"Here's the most important basic lessons you'll get, and they're both really simple. First off, is confidence. You know that story, the one where the Emperor buys himself a really great outfit, but it turns out he's just naked? Well, see, the Emperor got embarrassed, even though he was trying to be on the cutting edge of fashion. If he didn't get embarrassed, carried himself proudly, he could have started an entire new trend. You carry yourself well enough, you can pull off anything."
"The second thing ties in to that. Don't be afraid to take chances. People try to tell you real rules of fashion are just trying to confine things. Fashion is personal. Fashion is finding what works for you. Me, I'm gorgeous. I look great in a suit made of palm fronds. Whether you could pull that off, that's what you're supposed to discover in this class. Which brings us to the first of our weekly amazing activities: New Style time!"
Vince gestured at the racks ofmoddable clothes.
"Now, you've got a great amount of brilliant tops, bottoms, shoes, accessories, everything. I want you to partner up and help each other embrace a new style. This style will be picked by me, each week. This week, I want you to combine two ideas. First, the raver culture. You know, fluorescent colors, glow-in-the-dark jewelry, and things kept light and breathing so you don't overheat from all the dance. That, combined with pirates. You know, big tricorner hats, peg legs, eyepatches, yo-ho-ho and all that. I expect you to have fun with this, so go ahead and have at it!"
"Oh, and I know there's an odd number of students, so... one of you can volunteer to come to me for help. We'll have great fun."
