SAT Prep - Workshop #1 [Classroom]

"Good morning, everyone," Veronica said. "I know it's early to have to think, but this is actually good practice for when you go to take the SATs. And, I brought coffee."

She smiled. "My name is Veronica Mars. I graduated from Fandom High back in 2006. I'm currently studying Criminal Justice at UCLA. And I'm here to help give you tips and tricks to succeeding on your SATs."

"Before we begin, I'm going to pass out a syllabus to all of you. This is a rough guideline. If there's something you guys want to cover in more detail, I'm completely flexible. I'd like you all to introduce yourselves. Tell me when and where you're from, what colleges you're considering and what degree you would like to pursue. Then we'll go over some Tips and Tricks for how to approach the SAT."

Harry was there, gazing at his coffee in a sleepy but loving fashion.

Jennifer Walters

"Jennifer Walters, 1972 Los Angeles, I'm looking at Harvard or UCLA. Pre-Law, and then law school after that. That's the plan, at least," she introduced.

Veronica nodded. "If you need any help with current technology, feel free to ask."

Savannah Levine

"Savannah Levine, pretty modern on the year. I'm originally from Salem and would like to go to a high-ranked college with a major art program."

Sam Winchester

Veronica was vaguely familiar with Savannah, thanks to Piper's boys. "You looking to go back to Massachusetts?" she asked.

"I'm Sam Winchester," he said, more for other people's benefit than Veronica's. "The place I came from is nine years behind us, but I've been here long enough that I consider myself pretty modern. I have...a very long list of colleges," he admitted. "Some are long shots, some might not be, I'm not sure. Right now, I think I might go pre-law, but that could change if I find something that's a better fit."

She bit her lip and shook her head. "New York."

Veronica smiled. "Good to see you, Sam. I think pre-law would be a good fit for you."

"Lot of good art schools there," Veronica said.

Savannah nodded. "I've sent for information to some of them. I want to get in to a good art program."

And stay in the country to do so, yes.

"Good SAT scores and a good art portfolio should help with that," Veronica said.

"That's the plan for the summer," she said with a smile. "Study study study and pull together my portfolio."

"Thanks," Sam said with a smile. "I think it'll be a good way to help people, you know?"

"Definitely," Veronica agreed.

Harper Finkle

Harper was wearing her favorite outfit today with the big cupcake on her head, another one emblazoned on her shirt, and a matching scarf (http://craftastrophe.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/il_430xn45793110.jpg).

"I'm Harper Finkle and I transferred here from Tribeca Prep in January. I'm pretty much from this time period and not sure where I want to go to college yet. I'm thinking someplace in New York. It seems like a good place to be since I want to study fashion design."

Jon O'Neill

Jon was sitting there, communing with his coffee and not quite coherant. "Jon O'Neill, um, 2004, Colorado Springs, Air Force Academy. I haven't decided on the degree yet."

"Thank you, Miss Mars," Jennifer said. "I still am dealing with the whole... change."

"There's a lot of adjusting to do here," Veronica said sympathetically.

Veronica sort of stared at the giant cupcake on her head. And really, really hoped she didn't ever study fashion design because dear LORD.

She did, however, smile. "New York is a good place for fashion."

Colorado Springs. Air Force Academy.

That... brought up some unpleasant memories.

"So you're planning to go into the Air Force?"

"Oh, definitely! You can find everything in New York City," said Harper.

And everything included a teenage girl wearing a cupcake on her head.

"Yeah. I figure I'll do better than the old man this time around." Mostly, because he already has his foot in the door.

"Following in your father's footsteps then," Veronica said.

Sounded familiar.

Jon snickered and nodded. "Yeah, sort of. I'll have to tell Jack that one."

Veronica got the feeling she was missing something, but decided not to push it.

"Hey, my name's Turtle Wexler, I'm from boring Westington, Wisconsin, but haven't lived there in over three years so I don't think that counts anymore, and I'm going to Harvard," going, not thinking about going or anything like that, "to study law."

"Excellent," Veronica said. She was surprised that she had three wanna-be lawyers in the class. "Have you applied for early admission?"

Jennifer nodded. "May I ask what you plan on doing with you degree?"

"I'll most likely join up with one of the national agencies," Veronica said. "I did an internship with the FBI last summer."

Hey, Lawyering was Serious Business.

"It's on the to-do list," Turtle said with a nod. "It's...a long to-do list. My business just went franchise, and I just went professional with the law office in town."

"Wow, that's pretty impressive for a not quite high school senior," Veronica said.

Turtle beamed proudly. "Thanks! I think so, too."

"That sounds exciting," Jennifer said. "Thank you for sharing."

"You're welcome, Jennifer," Veronica said.
