So You Want to Make a TV Show- 2nd Period- Class #15

"Well, guys, it's our last class," Dana said once the bell had rung. The room was arranged in the studio setup, the equipment was out and ready, and Dana was all set to see how they did. "You've all listened and done the work and really that's all a teacher can ask for, aside from you doing the work well. Which, to be fair, you've all done, or at least no one's screwed up so bad that I noticed, which is something to be praised in itself. It's been a pleasure, hopefully you've learned something, now go make your show."

Like it's finals week!

Which is like 20 seconds long. You can get stuff done in that time. Just quickly.

Hand over the script, practice speaking, set up the camera, yadda yadda.

And now we go live. Yes there are subthreads.

Because they have dialogue.

Because they don't. Watch the show, run the equipment, make sure no turkeys fall from the sky...

Dana's got moddable snacks set out (it's totally like craft services, yo), so mingle and congratulate each other on jobs well done.

She's still heeeeeeeeere.

To the class: You've been awesome and I'm going to miss sending you out on assignments because the pings were funny. This is Dana's last class and thanks for making it fun. Also I am going to be out for a while before getting on a plane, so if you need Dana there will be SP involved sorry!

To LJ: That's not funny. Grow up.

Hannibal was milling around, making sure he wasn't going out there dry mouthed or anything. He wanted to be sharp.

Hannibal slid into his seat and put on his best smile. He could do this. Easy as pie. He just hoped Adora didn't panic.

"Hey, Hannibal," Dinah said, just a little wired.

Or a lot.

"Here's the script, um, #1 should be #4, but otherwise, I think I left space for you to, you know, banter or improv or whatever." Dinah peered at her own notes, biting her lower lip. "I have more? If you think it needs it?"

Dinah was trying to stay still, and kept re-checking the scripts she'd written for coherency. And completeness. And quippiness.

Plus she's downing her third cup of coffee this morning.

Hannibal took the script and skimmed it quickly. If he had some words, he could fill in the blanks.

He hoped.

"Nah, if we need to fill time, I'll tease Adora," he said, smiling. "This looks good, though. You got a background in this sort of thing?"

"Really? Noooo. Thanks," Dinah said, beaming at him. "But I figured, scores, weirdness, human interest, right? I checked it five times for errors, but if there's anything else, I guess Jenny will let you guys know." She blew out a breath. "You ready? You seem ready."

Turtle, of course, had notes. She was going over them and sorting out the little mini-notes she had for everyone else. She was the director here. She was only going to accept excellence.

Or, she was at least going to kindly request excellence and hope for the best.

"I think so," he said and rolled his shoulders. "Had a good weekend, good night's sleep, and a lot of coffee but not enough to have to use the can while I'm up there. Can't get much more ready."

"Break a leg," Dinah said, "Only not literally," she added, Fandom being what it was. "I'm sure you'll do great."

"Yeah, let's not really break a leg," he said and shook his leg out. "Because, ow. Also, cramps my style! But thanks."

Claire Fisher

Claire didn't have anything to do until after the final, so she just sat back and watched everybody milling around.

Everyone else got to mingle and east snacks. Claire grabbed a few cookies and went back to the editing equipment.

She had a show to put together.
