So, unless Turtle was mistaken, not only were the kids still here, but it sounded like practically ever member of YA had at least one if not (as in her case) a full-on clan.

That was going to put a little bit of a restriction on club today, although she knew hers to be old enough that they didn't need constant supervision. She almost wanted to recruit them to help put together some kits, but she didn't want to flirt that closely with child labor laws.

Forget that she herself had been a business owner before the legal age when she was fifteen.

So she had plenty of business related today: cash registers, banks, even some trading sets. She had some Wall Street Journals and business minded games (Monopoly, Life, Risk and chess, because business was just another battleground), as well as tons more of the usual treats with cocoa as well as coffee.

"Easy meeting today, guys," she announced at the round table of desks. "Young Entrepreneurs are the future of business, so our collected Younger Entrepreneurs here are our future's future, so let's share with them our love of business and just have fun today."

Turtle arched an eyebrow a little at Ned.

"Two of 'em, eh?" she asked, as if she and her three were anyone to talk.

"Surprised me too," he said and shrugged. "Two."

"Whose and whose?"

Because that was the really important question here.

"Uh, Annabella," he said, nodding to the girl, "is Kaylee's. And the little boy, Chad, his mom is my best friend from home."

A flash of envy crossed Turtle's face. "So at least if you've got different parental combinations, only one of them's actually here."

Ned winced and said, "...all of yours are?"

Turtle made a slight face. "Three different kids," she muttered, "three different fathers. Thank God I know that all of this is just...weird...alternate universe stuff. I am not the kind of person to have three different baby daddies. At all. I don't even know if I want kids; I'll be too busy for kids!"

"Who are the fathers, if I can ask?" Ned asked, curious as can be considering that reaction.

Turtle sighed. "Jeff, Leto, and Marco. The kid with the hair and the briefcase over there is Jeff's. The kid with the blue eyes glued to the chessboard is Leto's. And the girl in the corner who looks like she'd rather be anywhere else but here is Marco's. Trip, Sandy, Alice."

"Hello," Ned said even if they weren't even paying attention to him. "How have they been? Well behaved or wild?"

"Very self-sufficient," Turtle decided. "Thank God. And yours?"

"Excitable," he said, pointing to Chad. "And kind of solemn." That was for Annabella. "So...a good mix?"

Turtle nodded. "A nice delicate balance. I think Alice's apathy helped balance out Trip's spaztasticness, too."

"We made a pie yesterday," Ned said, grinning. "Chad broke an egg on his hand and thought the egg was eating his hand."

"It was!" Chad said.

"Was not," Annabella said.

Turtle gave a slight glance toward Chad.

And then a glance toward Trip.

And prayed they'd stay a good, long distance away from each other.

"Eating his hand?" she dared to ask.

"He thought it was a monster or something," Ned explained. "And was convinced the stuff inside the egg was eating his hand."

"I'm a little disturbed," Turtle admitted, "that I figured that's exactly what it was."

It was the kind of thing Jeff would do...

"Well, he went from thinking it was eating his hand to thinking it was a mitten."

Ned was wondering about this kid.

"He's hyper."

"...Are you sure he's the offspring of a friend from home and not Jeff?"

She just had to check.

That sort of thing seemed to be possible on these weekends.

Laughing, Ned shook his head and said, "His mom's name is Charlotte. Chuck for short. Unless she's somehow related to Jeff, I think it's just eerie similarity."

"Very eerie," Turtle admitted.
