So You Want to Make a TV Show- 2nd Period- Class #14

When the class settled in, with any kids that might be attending, Dana said, "You remember our class on dealing with things you weren't expecting? Everyone's kids would be one of those things. Notice how I roll with it. So your assignments are posted, and most everyone got what they signed up for. And lucky for me and the hair I'm not going to pull out too much, today's rehearsal for next week's final. Take a look at what you're doing, and practice it. If you want to go down to the library to research, that's fine, if you want to take a better look at the equipment, go for it, if you just want to practice saying your lines in front of the camera, that's perfect. If you have any questions, now's the time to ask them, because next week we go live.

"And if you brought your kids, I have the same cartoons as last week."

Hannibal didn't have any kids with him right now (whoo!) but he was sure that would change since one of his baby mommas was this class.

As soon as they spotted him, the twins made a beeline for their daddy, attacking with hugs while Adora trailed behind, reminding them they were to be polite and respectful of the teacher's lecture.

"But it'd be rude not to give daddy hugs when we saw him!" Hamilton pointed out.

"Ham Sandwich! Punkin!" Hannibal said, kneeling down. "Made it through the night with Mom, huh?"

"Momma told us stories and sighed a lot," Madison informed him. "She might wash out your mouth with soap." Just a warning from his little girl.

"...what stories did you tell?" Hannibal asked, looking up at Adora.

Adora gave him a look he hadn't even earned, "Just a little story about my friend Perfuma, who it seems you wouldn't be fond of despite her ample skills." She did not mean skills.

Re: Listen to the Lecture

[identity profile] decoder-rings.livejournal.com 2009-04-13 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"Perfuma's a stupid name anyway," he said. "She doesn't spray that smelly shit around, does she?"

"She makes everything flowers," Hamilton complained. "It sucks."

[identity profile] decoder-rings.livejournal.com 2009-04-13 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, ew," Hannibal said, making a face. "That does suck. No wonder I don't like her. Tell her not to do that to me."

"It seems you tell her yourself with lots of colorful language," Adora supplied. Oh and there was that face again.

"Oh yeah?" Hannibal looked to the twins because he was pretty sure Adora wouldn't repeat it. "Like what?"

Hamilton was always good for sharing. "Like how people need to keep their fucking flowers to themselves! Momma doesn't seem to think so but I say sometimes flowers are stinky and make me all itchy!"

"You are right, Hamilton," Hannibal said, ruffling his hair. "And don't ever be afraid to tell that psycho to step the fuck off."

What? He knew the word already.

"Hannibal!" Adora exclaimed. "She's not a psycho and please don't teach the children to be rude or cruel!"

[identity profile] decoder-rings.livejournal.com 2009-04-13 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"I apparently already did," Hannibal said, snickering. "It's not rudeness or cruelty. It's being opinionated."

And hey, she must have liked it in that other universe if he was still shacking up with her.

"She-Ra says there are times to voice your opinions and times to bite your tongue," Madison informed him. "Hamilton has to bite his lots."

"As long as you guys know it's okay to speak up," Hannibal said. "Even if it makes your mother faint sometimes."

Re: Listen to the Lecture

[identity profile] fabulous-secret.livejournal.com 2009-04-13 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"I didn't faint, and it is so obvious they are yours it scares me," Adora frowned.

[identity profile] decoder-rings.livejournal.com 2009-04-13 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"My kids are awesome!" Hannibal said, grinning. "And they're mother can't resist me!"

Okay, that was mostly just a joke.

"Neither of her can," Hamilton said loudly.

"Lena, can you just watch the cartoons? Please? Mommy has to do her homework." Dinah gave Jess a look. "You too. And no breaking things!"

And two little blondes scampered off to cartoons.

"I never get kids on these weekends." Robin observed. He wasn't quite complaining.

Claire had Talia with her, but Talia didn't really need much tending. Once the girl was settled in front of the cartoons, she listened and made plans to practice with the editing equipment.

Turtle was delightfully child-free during class. Trip was still zonked out in the room and she'll let Jeff deal with him when he woke up, and Alice and Sandy were just such strong individuals that she knew they were fine on their own while she was here. If there was anything, at least it seemed like she, for the most part, was capable of raising self-sufficient kids.

Probably because she mostly had to be one herself growing up.
