When Sam got to the library, the first thing he did was check all around the desk for gremlins. Just because he had to be nice to them on the radio didn't mean he had to let himself get bitten, and it wasn't until he saw that he was safe that he sat down and got to work.

Sam checked to make sure there were no overdue books, and checked in any books that people had brought back.

Sam checked his e-mail, and kept his eyes out for any gremlin activity.

The threat of gremlins wasn't enough to keep Sam out of the stacks, looking for a book to read.

Sam had brownies again if Dean came by for lunch.

Sam was back at the desk, reading and sitting with his feet up for probably the only time ever.

Sam quickly checked for anything that needed to be dealt with before he could leave.

*starts the caffeine IV*

Peter came in looking very proud of himself. "Hey."

"Hey," Sam said, noticing the look. "What's that smile all about?"

"I helped teach a class," Peter said. He put coffee and donuts down on the counter. "I'd say it went well."

"Really? Which class?" Sam asked, happily taking the coffee.

"Leadership," Peter said.

"Nathan let you help him with his class? What was it about, how to rule without making your siblings want to kill you?"

"Wasn't so much letting me as I staged a coup," Peter said. "He came around in the end though."

Sam laughed and passed the donuts to Peter. "He didn't know you were coming? Why'd you go then?"

Peter helped himself to a chocolate one. "To remind him all great leaders need someone who makes sure that they're human. In his case, it's me."

"Oh, I'm sure he appreciated that lesson a lot," Sam said, laughing. "I'm pretty sure being an effective leader means not being too emotional."

"It's all about balance," Peter said. "And of course he appreciated it. I'm too loveable to resist."

"Well, we all know that's true," Sam said with a grin. "There's no way to say no to you."

Having no problem with testing that, Peter replied, "Can I have a kiss?"

Curious to see what would happen, Sam shook his head. "No, not right now."

Peter immediately gave Sam sad eyes.

Sam made a wounded noise when he looked at Peter. "Hey, stop that," he said, putting his hand up between them to try to block the look.

"You said no," Peter told him, woefully.

"I didn't mean it. I just wanted to prove that I could," Sam said.
