When the students came into the Danger Shop on Saturday morning they would notice that it had been turned into a giant bedroom. A giant bedroom that had six sleeping bags arranged in a circle in the center of it. Marshall, being in charge here, obviously got to have the bed. The students would also see a sign in sheet when they came in so they could let Marshall know they were here:

The man in charge of said detention, Marshall, was standing in the center of the bedroom wearing a nightgown.

"Ahem."

Oh, right, nightshirt. He was standing in a nightshirt. Whether or not he was wearing underwear under said nightshirt was up for debate.

"Hey guys. I guess I don't really need to introduce myself since you're either from my class--" He nodded at Sam, Hoshi, Alex and Marco. "--one of my friend's enemies--" Marshall looked over at Chuck. Then he nodded at John. "--or some teenage boy that I drank with in the bar and now feeling kind of odd about seeing in a teaching capacity. Welcome to detention. I've never really done this type of thing before and I haven't been in detention myself in a couple of years so I didn't really know what to do for this...but last night I was watching 13 Going on 30 I was like, hey! Let's have slumber party."

Hard to believe this man was married to a pretty hot chick, huh?

"Before you get too excited, there isn't going to be any sleeping. Everyone knows the first person that falls asleep at a sleepover gets their hand put in hot water and then pees themselves. Which is just cruel and never funny," Marshall said. "It's not funny when your brothers do it to you at a sleepover when you were nine and it's not funny when your best friend does it to you when you're twenty-four and asleep on the couch."

One of these days Marshall was going to learn to stop talking before he shared too much information.

"And, since this is detention, I couldn't really let you guys have too much fun. So we're having a girl's sleepover. Yeah, Hoshi, Alex, you're getting off easy. I don't think you're in here on purpose anyways. Don't worry, guys, I got boys and girls pj's and it's not like we're playing Spin the Bottle or anything. It's just...well...you'll see."

Marshall had the feeling Spin the Bottle wasn't a school-approved activity anyway. "Don't worry; there's cool stuff to do too. Prank calls, Truth or Dare, that sort of thing. Okay, so, get pj'ed up and get started. I'm gonna go over to the bed and watch TV. Call me if something disastrous happens."

What? He wasn't in detention. He could do what he wanted. He might even take a nap.

"I know how that is," Chuck said. He had been on his father's bad list since birth. "I think we'll go with...purple."

What? He liked purple.

"The color of royalty," John murmured, grabbing the bottle and shaking it like he'd seen Chuck do and marveling at the rattling sound.

"So while I reject my dad's money, you embrace yours." Maybe he was doing it wrong.

"I figure it's owed to me," Chuck said, holding out his hand. "Payment for putting up with him all these years."

"Huh," John considered this idea as he opened the polish and reached for Chuck's hand. He could mimic this nail painting thing, it couldn't be all that hard.

"So you get the money and you get to do what you want. I'm thinking you don't have a sibling to bitch about it."

"Not yet. I will be getting them soon enough. My dad's getting married in May," Chuck explained. He didn't really mind if John screwed up. It's not like he'd be keeping the polish on for long anyway. "But I'm not worried about them bitching at me. They've got their own money and I've known them since kindergarten. They should be used to my lifestyle by now."

"A ready-made family, that's sweet," John grinned, swiping the brush a little messily over Chuck's nails. "Also it has the bonus of being siblings you're technically not related to by blood."

"That does make them easier to ignore," Chuck agreed. Not that he had a reason to ignore Eric or Serena yet. "Aren't you allowed to hit your blood siblings when they annoy you or something?"

"Up to a point," John said, making a face of concentration as he shifted Chuck's hand for a better angle. "It gets old when it's the same argument on repeat."

"Huh." It seemed a lot like being married to him. Chuck made a face at the sub par job John was doing but knew better than to mention anything. He'd just make it worse on purpose.

Chuck looked over at Sam and then lowered his voice a little when he spoke to John again. "So I hear we're playing Truth or Dare later."

John noticed the lowered voice and found he was actually curious. "Great. Plotting a dare, Bass?"

"I think I know of a way to make Sam flail," Chuck confirmed with a nod. "But you'll have to dare him because if I do it he'll just bitchface and throw a hissyfit. It has to look like I had nothing to do with it."

"So you're hoping to use me to get something you want from Sam?" John considered this. For one, he'd been pretty good friends with Dawn. For two, it wasn't like he had anything better to do. "What's the dare?"

"It's not something I want, really," Chuck said. "I just like making him freak out."

What a liar.

Chuck smirked. "I want you to dare him to kiss me. Trust me, the freak out that will commence will be epic."

John burst out laughing, and tried to cough it away so as not to draw Sam's attention. "Oh from what I've heard on radio, I'll bet it'd be epic. What's in this for me?"

"What do you want?" Chuck asked.

"Nothing you can offer." It was the truth, really. "But I'd be willing to settle for cash."

"Cash I can definitely do," he said, grinning. "How much do you want?"

Chuck was willing to spend quite a lot of money for this. He wasn't stupid enough to say that out loud though.

Just having seen Chuck's shoes, John knew he aim high. This might just pay for that new shiny thing he'd promised Jaina last night. "Let's say five grand."

"How about twenty-five hundred for asking," Chuck said. "And if he actually does it then you'll get the five grand."

"It's a deal," John smiled, finishing up the polish job and closing the paint with gusto. "You must really wanna kiss that guy."

"You could say it's been a long time coming," Chuck said, checking out his nails. John could have done a worse job, he supposed.
