Movie Appreciation: Week 10, Period 3 (Fri. 3/20)

"We're gonna try something different today," Ronon announced when it seemed like most students had arrived and found seats. "There's a whole genre of film we've ignored so far in favor of movies where stuff explodes." But really, Ronon liked the explosions so that's why there were more of them. "I think we should call 'em sleepers but the internet thing says they're classics. This thing on TV said this one was the best, so we're gonna kick back and try not to fall asleep while we watch meta for Casablanca. I haven't seen it," because he fell asleep trying to watch the first time, duh, "so it's a learning day for everybody. Grab a pillow. I'll set a timer for the end of class."

Now this was a movie Angela actually knew, and knew from back home, too.

She snagged a couple of pillows and got comfy. Romantic movie? She'd probably have no trouble staying awake here.

Romeo liked this movie a lot. It was so sad and so beautiful! He took a couple pillows and some snacks and settled in to watch.

Peyton curled up on some pillows and snuggled in to watch the movie.

Dinah loved this movie. Which isn't to say she didn't want a nap. Staking out the Common Room again had left her pretty groggy, so dozing alternated with watching the film. Yaaawn.

Ronon didn't have to tell John twice. Naps were far better than potential conversations about sandboxes and things John thought would be better to forget. He grabbed a pillow and settled in.

Peter actually liked this movie, so he didn't mind watching it for class.

Yeah, the movie would be good for naptime if, you know, you could actually sleep.

So Emmett would be spending his class making paper footballs to flick at people who got sleep.

Well, congratulations. You are responsible for me saying the sentence "Should I watch Casablanca or Alien vs. Predator today?"

I ended up going with the latter. Casablanca doesn't have aliens bursting out of people's chests. It's a great movie but it would have been greater if an alien popped out of Strasser's chest at the end. It's just a fact.

Wolves? Pass up an opportunity for sleep? Never!

Well at least that's what Firekeeper intended to do. She kept waking up and then actually paying attention to the movie for a few minutes at a time before she'd nod off again.
