So You Want to Make a TV Show- 2nd Period- Class #10

Today the students might notice a few changes in the room. Mainly that there was a backdrop behind her desk that looked much like your typical news set. There were papers on the desk, and the desks had been moved apart slightly to make room for a large teleprompter and the big camera from the other week.

When the bell rang, Dana took a moment to look over the class. "Good, you're all your rightful selves again. Then we can move on without milk and cookie time, which is good since I didn't bring those," she said. "We've gone over writing, and being on both ends of the camera a bit, and now we're going to work on screen testing."

She patted the teleprompter. "This is what we call a teleprompter. The papers on the desk you always see on the news are mainly props. This thing will show you your lines and you read them for the camera, hopefully without being stiff or wooden or looking like a deer in the headlights. You're going to be writing your own intro, you know, the typical 'Welcome to insert name of show here, I'm insert your name here, we've got a great show for you tonight insert quip here.' And then you're going to sit at my desk, in front of the camera, and read your lines from the teleprompter. You are being recorded, but don't worry too much about that. Especially since you have a live audience."

Hannibal was back to normal sized and he was very happy about that. And very happy about no longer being covered in mud and other various dirty things.

Adora was really just wishing she could crawl back in bed. But she'd made at least two children cry the night before and the guilt of that was keeping her from hiding.

Oh right, she should pay attention to class at some point. Tele-what? What had she said?

Dinah had actually taken about three showers this morning; so she was a lot less sticky and sugar-coated now. She'd be dozing if Ms. Whitaker's brand of intensity didn't mean she *had* to stay awake. Yawn.

Hannibal figured he'd be fine in front of the camera but it was the coming up with something good to read that was tripping him up.

He wrote down, crossed out and wrote down things far too many times.

Okay, an introduction. Adora figured she could handle this given then amount of ESPN she had been watching since class started a few weeks back. Whether or not it made sense was up for grabs.

Hannibal took a few deep breaths and then jumped right in.

"Hey there, America, welcome to another episode of Total Action Knitting. My name is Hannibal King but you already knew that already, didn't you? On today's show, we've got cross stitching and crocheting and you'd better watch out, Edie Mae Rogers is back for another round of Knitting Knockdowns! Let's get right to the action, shall we?"

He slapped the desk and grinned.

"Hello and greetings, and welcome to the Wide World of Muffet Sports!" Wait, that wasn't right. "That should say Muppet sports actually."
