Flight Club [Flight Shed]

There were...things in the sky. Bird like things with talons and shrieks that made him wish for ear plugs. They weren't attacking but Gavin was keeping a wary eye on them. There were snacks and drinks and Gavin was trying to keep them covered and out of harm's way

"So, guys, looks like the island's got some visitors," Gavin said, covering his ears as a few shrieked loudly. "And they appear to be pretty pissed unless that's a really bad way of showing us they come in peace. Amazingly, today's meeting is pretty topical. Today, you've got your ship of choice but you're going to be facing a massive onslaught of enemies a la Space Invaders. They're going to keep coming at you and it's going to be your job to avoid getting shot down and losing too much fuel. If it helps, just picture the enemy, which are just going to be drone ships, as these...things that keep shrieking."

Gavin opened the sim door and said, "Get to it!"

"I didn't crash!" Tahiri echoed back at him, looking a little shellshocked because it was going to take a while to sink in.

Ben failed at dating.

Yes, and this was the girl who got her first kiss in a locker on an airless space station.

The look on Tahiri's face right now was exactly why Kam Solusar had given Corran Horn the 'you poor, poor man' look before the supply-mission-that-wasn't to Eriadu.

"You bet."

That look was one of the things Ben liked most about Tahiri. He grinned at her. "Suppose I should go shoot some fake things out of the sky, huh?"
