Science! Club, Friday Afternoon

Each of the lab stations in the science lab had at it a large box, wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper and tied with a bow.

"Ladies and gentlemen!" Sokka announced from the front of the room. "I have something VERY SPECIAL for you all today!"

He held up a sealed envelope. "In this envelope is something that EVERYONE ought to know how to make. It's one of the most important chemical compounds in this planet's history, and for those of you, like myself, who come from a world without modern conveniences, it is INDISPENSABLE for winning arguments."

"The ingredients are SULFUR, a yellow rock you can find in the ground, especially around hot springs, CHARCOAL, which is pretty easy to make but hard to make well, and SALTPETER, which you can find in white crystals on old dungheaps. Take them in exactly the right proportions, grind them up together very carefully using my father's patented method, and you get a little thing we like to call 'Hakoda's Special Number One Powder'."

He lit the envelope on fire and dropped it into an empty garbage can, where it exploded.

"Ta-da! Each lab station has a box with all your ingredients and a grinding mill. Have fun!"

Great. The pony-tail guy was trying to blow everyone up.

Zoe was so going to kick Indy's ass.

"Maybe it's a good idea to run the club topics by me first before the students blow up the school," Indiana suggested.

"And what happens when they walk out of this classroom, now knowing the correct way to blow something up?" he asked. "What if they decide to do this on their own and get hurt? Or hurt someone else?"
