Young Entrepreneurs; Monday, Period 6 [ 03/02 ].

The name of the club was sprawled out on the chalkboard and Turtle was sitting at the makeshift boardroom table with her gavel and a donut. There were plenty of donuts and coffee available, as usual, with the addition of a macaroon here and there, since Turtle felt the coconut would be a nice touch after getting back from the cruise. Which, actually, was going to be their topic today.

"Okay," Turtle started, "I know most, if not all, of use just got back from a really amazing spring break vacation, compliments of our school. I was thinking that maybe something we could do was figure out how in the world this school finances something like that, but I gave up on that about two years ago, because it's kind of staggering and a little...incomprehensible, to be honest. It, like time travel, is simply not something that can be pondered too long without confusing yourself too much or making your head explode. So, instead, I was thinking we could just have a discussion about the cruise ship itself as a money maker. I'm sure none of us were sitting there, thinking, 'boy, I wonder how much revenue goes into this, or that"--well, Turtle was--"but try to go back and come up with things that would have helped the Crown Princess be a successful business venture."

"I, for one, couldn't help noticing a casino on board. That's brilliant, right there, especially if it pays out well. If people are on a big boat, and they're gambling and drinking and having a good time, and they win a lot of money, they're likely to just got and spend that newly earned income, right there on that boat, which means what happens to that money? Goes right on back to the ship." Turtle shook her head. "Brilliant, really. Anything else you can think of?"

"I don't think I've ever seen stores on a boat like that," Ned said. "If you won money from the casino, you could put it right back into the ship's bank by buying something from their stores."

Not that he'd bought much. Just a few small things.

Leto tried to think of anything in particular that had caught his attention. "I found it was mostly the usual things; Give people the opportunity to spend money on food and drink and various activities that offers temporary pleasure and offers distraction. I might have expected something that allowed people to fight. Also, the age where people are considered adults here is higher than I expected." Yes, he still didn't like not being served at the bar.

"They could be using the time-travel," Alice offered. "As a source of income, that is."

She'd get to the cruise in a minute.
