Blank Page Art Club [Monday, After Classes]

It might be obvious from Angela's entire demeanor, that today was not one of her best days. The argument with Hannibal yesterday was still weighing heavily on her mind, and she really didn't want to talk about her current 'married' status anymore.

"I didn't really get a chance to do much planning," Angela admitted. "Spring Break and everything. But I pulled together some of this Plasticine stuff, and some plain pottery clay so we could do a bit of sculpture."

"If you don't want to do that, that's fine. There are cookies and other art materials for you." She waved a hand in a vague 'get to it' gesture.

Those cookies are there for the eating. Just don't eat the Plasticine.

Cal was not going to lie. He thought about eating the Plasticine.

Or at least trying to convince someone else to give it a try.

Savannah noticed that something was way way off with her friend.

"What's going on, Angela?"

"Rough couple of days," she replied, hitting that plasticine firmly with the side of her fist.

This modeling clay thing had been a good call on her part.

Savannah sat next to her and pummeled some clay.

"Need someone to talk to?"

"Probably." Angela sighed, smacking the plasticine hand with the heel of her hand one last time before she actually looked at Savannah.

"You ever do something really, really dumb?" Most people usually had. "I did. It didn't even mean anything, but I can't undo it, and it's really screwing things up."

"Oh yes, so so many things." She looked at her sympathetically. "Too much to drink on the ship makes bad things look like a really good idea. Oh yes."

"Exactly!" She huffed out a frustrated breath. "And if only everyone actually got that."

"Do I need to guess who's not getting that? And I'm betting it's male."

"Isn't it always?" she asked, largely rhetorically. "And then it all gets blown way out of proportion, they won't admit that they're being an idiot, and you end up fighting without really even knowing why."

She had heard the reports on the radio about her and Romeo. "Does said male not realize that it's not legal because you were under eighteen and not real because you were too drunk to realize exactly what you were doing?"

"Apparently not," Angela replied, prodding at her Plasticine again. "And it's not through lack of me trying to tell him that."

"If we were in an actual relationship? Fine, I'd get that he'd be pissed off. But, we're not. I apologised for not telling him first, what the hell else does he want?"

"Angela... he sounds jealous."

She could only imagine what Johnny's reaction would have been if they were casual in their relationship and she had married someone else in a drunken haze.

Angela was very well aware of that. "But instead of actually admitting that it bothers him, he acts like a passive-aggressive jerk."

"That's because guys have the default setting of passive-aggressive jerk because they don't want to admit to those feelings -- until someone admits to them first," she sighed, shaking her head.

"Idiots, the lot of them," Angela grumbled, trying to peel her clay off the tabletop with some difficulty.

"If I got like this every time he slept with someone else--" she shook her head. "Like that doesn't bother me."

"Have you told him it bothers you?"

This was something that she did have some experience n.

"No," Angela admitted after a moment.

It had been working. Sort of.

"It's one of those 'we really don't talk about it' topics."

"Sweetie, please trust me when I say that doesn't need to be one of those topics. When Johnny and I first started seeing each other, that was one of those things we didn't talk about -- even though it tore me apart every time he was with someone else."

"I think it'll be a very one-sided conversation," Angela said, grabbing one of the clay knifes to help her get the Plasticine off the table, "since he completely refuses to admit there's anything wrong."

"I could talk to him," she offered, already planning to smack him anyway. "You're one of my best friends and he's a friend, too. Or, I could ask Johnny to talk to him as there seems to be some common ground there."

Angela quirked her a little smile. "I don't know that would help, sweetie, but thank you for the offer."

She sighed, rolling the bits of clay back into a large multicoloured ball again. "We'll see how it goes when I actually feel like dealing with the whole thing."

"As long as you that the offer has no expiration date," she said with a small smile, adding touches to the ship she was sculpting.

"I'll bear that in mind if this keeps up," she promised. "Right now, I'm taking my issues out on clay. Which is probably better than hitting him again."

It was going well, obviously.
