Detention, Saturday

Today's detention was starting out on the ground floor of the school. Of course, they wouldn't be staying there. When those who had detention arrived, they'd find four pairs of drab grey coveralls with their individual names (Gavin, John, Triela, and Amber) sewn on the chest. There were brooms, dustpans, mops, sponges, feather dusters, and every other imaginable cleaning item stacked beside the coveralls.

"Good morning," Fraser said brightly. "I'm sure we all know why you're each here today. So, let's get right to it. In front of you, you will find coveralls with your name on it. Put them on and grab a broom. We're cleaning the entire school today. Sweeping, mopping, dusting, buffing, everything. I will be checking behind you so don't think you can do a lazy job and not have it come back at you."

He grinned again. He was oddly chipper this morning. Not that that was different for Fraser but after the last week, it was good to smile genuinely again.

"Please, put your coveralls on and start cleaning."

Gavin spent several minutes just staring at the coveralls and cleaning equipment.

"Kriffing hell, this is John Sheppard's fault," he said and slid into the coveralls before grabbing a broom.

"Um, not all my fault," John muttered, glaring in Gavin's direction.

"You started the fight," Gavin muttered right back. "Pushy ass."

"Man, you kneed me in the nuts, I think you can get the hell over it," John complained, rolling his eyes.

"Deserved," Gavin griped with a small smirk at the memory.

"You're a jackass," John said, noting the smirk.

"Aw, your words shatter my soul," Gavin quipped and ran his fingers over his nametag. "Think we get to keep these as a souvenir?"

"Oh yeah, wouldn't wanna forget cleaning Fandom High."

"Don't be in such a bitchy mood," Gavin said. "It's not becoming."

"Dammit," she muttered but put her uniform on and grabbed a mop.

After yesterday, this was the last thing she wanted to spend her Saturday doing. She would never sleep in Mr. Jameson's class again, that was for sure.

John shrugged into his coveralls, glad not to mess up his own clothes for the dirty activity.

In the cafeteria, Amber started mopping the floors. She was actually used to working in a cafeteria so it wasn't so bad. Except for her grumpling about this that and the other, people would think she was in an okay mood if they saw her.

Gavin found his way into the auditorium and didn't know why he'd picked the biggest damn room. Whatever. He started sweeping the floor.

John decided teachers were dirty when he found old, decaying donut crumbs on the floor of the teacher's lounge. Fandom must need more mice to take care of that mess.

Amber decided to dust for a while, thus she was in Mr. Fraser's office, dusting.

Sigh.

Teacher's offices. John should not have bad, bad thoughts. Though, really, John wondered what Dex needed all the rubber balls in his top drawer for. Um, not that he was snooping. Never.

[OMG modded with permission from the teacher]

Gavin didn't want to actually go into teacher offices so he just started cleaning the floors of the corridors with his broom and then going behind with a mop.

Kriffing hell, these teachers tracked a lot of crap with their shoes. Gum wrappers, mud, grass, condoms wrappers...

Still dusting, Amber took quick advantage of the computer room to check her email. And trying to hurry so she didn't get caught.

Gavin wandered into the study hall room and thought about taking a nap before bypassing that possibly fatal option and cleaning the windows with his sponge and cleaning solution.

Nibbling on a sandwich, she was totally dazed out.

Gavin wasn't very hungry so he snacked on some crackers and drank a bottle of water.

You know, i Ihad been looking forward to detention! And who would have predicted that my convention this weekend would be in a hotel with NO WIFI CONNECTION? Seriously, my mind has been blown. And my productivity cut in half. What is wrong with this place?
