Gavin was out a little earlier than usual at the flight shed, giving himself some extra sim time since he'd been slacking off on that particular activity for awhile. It was way too easy to be lazy.

But, he was outside the shed, greeting the club members when meeting time came around. There were snacks and drinks, ready to be consumed (no alcohol as much as some people might like it after yesterday).

"Hey everyone," Gavin greeted after everyone arrived. "Last week, we did atmosphere flying. Today, we're gonna hit space. I've tried to give you all options on which ship you wanna fly. They're all different, with different controls and different ways of handling so you'll have to take some time to get used to the controls. I've set the sim up to this planet's galaxy and what you'll be doing is navigating your choice of ship around the Earth. No, you don't have to get all the way around but using the Earth as sort of a road will allow you to move around without fear of getting lost."

He opened the door to the shed and nodded. "First up?"

"A lot more likely to make you lose a limb, too," Tahiri argued, but she couldn't deny that they did sound cool. "Now I have to see those."

"That'd be a family tradition, then?" Ben tried. "Leto had to ask his sister before I'd be allowed near them and he wants to check with Granddad too."

Cue the pouting.

Tahiri reached out with one finger to poke him in the chest. "Nuh uh. Neg the limb-losing for you."

"I'm sure I could figure it out," Ben declared. "I'm pretty good with the remotes."

"The remotes won't chop pieces off you," Tahiri argued.

Ben frowned. "You think I'm going to chop pieces off of myself?"

"Not for fun, no," Tahiri answered, relenting a little. "And I think you're way better than that. I just . . ."

She dropped her gaze, looking annoyed with herself.

"What?" Ben asked quietly.

Tahiri drew a deep breath and looked up at him. "I just really, really don't want to lose anyone again, and it scares me. Too much."

Ben reached for her hand. "I'm not going anywhere. I promise."

"You better not." Tahiri curled her fingers around his hand and squeezed lightly. Swallowing, she added quietly, "I'm really sorry."

"There's no need to apologize," he said. "Especially not to me."

If not for Jaina and Master Skywalker's presence she would have kissed him for that, but Tahiri just squeezed Ben's hand again and smiled. "And this is why you're completely astral."

"I've heard that a lot recently," he said with a smile, letting her hand go.

Mostly from her.

"That's because I talk a lot," Tahiri teased, her mood already on the upswing.

"I hadn't noticed," Ben teased back.

"It's my secret superpower," Tahiri informed him solemnly.

"Well, if it's secret, I'll be sure not to mention it," Ben said.

"If you do, I'll find out," Tahiri said, her eyes twinkling. "And I'll have to do something drastic."

"What kind of drastic?" Ben asked.

"I haven't decided yet," Tahiri answered.

"Should I have a bad feeling about this?" Ben teased.

Tahiri leaned in and narrowed her eyes at him playfully. "The worst bad feeling ever."

"Noted," he said, laughing. "I'll sleep with one eye open to avoid a sudden tickle attack or something."

"It's when you're not sleeping that you have to worry about it," Tahiri pressed, grinning.
