Flight Club [Flight Shed]

Gavin was out a little earlier than usual at the flight shed, giving himself some extra sim time since he'd been slacking off on that particular activity for awhile. It was way too easy to be lazy.

But, he was outside the shed, greeting the club members when meeting time came around. There were snacks and drinks, ready to be consumed (no alcohol as much as some people might like it after yesterday).

"Hey everyone," Gavin greeted after everyone arrived. "Last week, we did atmosphere flying. Today, we're gonna hit space. I've tried to give you all options on which ship you wanna fly. They're all different, with different controls and different ways of handling so you'll have to take some time to get used to the controls. I've set the sim up to this planet's galaxy and what you'll be doing is navigating your choice of ship around the Earth. No, you don't have to get all the way around but using the Earth as sort of a road will allow you to move around without fear of getting lost."

He opened the door to the shed and nodded. "First up?"

At least Jaina hadn't been out much yesterday to be embarrassing at everyone. Didn't mean she was in a huge rush to talk today.

Anemone was still clueless that anything unusual had happened yesterday, so she was perfectly happy to chat with people while she snacked.

Momoko nibbled and looked around a bit, waiting her turn. She was eager to try space again. Actually, she was eager for anything that wasn't that leaky old wooden raft from Hero class, earlier in the day.

Tahiri opted for the Colonial Viper and blamed her player for being a dork; it was similar to the X-Wing, but not having to worry about the Incom snubfighter's S-foils was a bonus to a complete newbie.

A little bit of one, anyway.

It was still really not a pretty flight at all, and Tahiri hadn't accounted for . . . well. A lot of differences in the cockpit controls.

But it was kind of fun?

Robin had actually already flown an X-Wing during a previous flight class. This time he went with a Tie Fighter because they looked funny.

Hoshi was really happy to try out the space shuttle, and the fact that it was just a simulation really eased her nerves.

Momoko pondered her choices. She'd tried the X-wing before and the shuttle, dropship, and Pod were just. not. cute. It was down to the TIE fighter or the Viper, and a quick paper-rock-scissors later had her in the belly of a Viper.

Which ended up being really similar to the X-wing, only less... x-ey?... so she had fun.
