Coffee and snacks are near the back. Sign the roster and if you have not turned in a permission slip, signed by either a guardian or yourself, please do so. Those who do not go on the field trip will be required to write a 5 page research report on the different rates of decomposition in the human body. Emphasis will be placed on noting which variables affect those rates.

As for today, all we are doing is going over the necessary equipment and rules of conduct for the trip.

-Wear old clothes and sturdy shoes.
-Do not touch anything.
-Walk only in designated areas.
-Practical jokes will be punished by detention.

I will dispense bottles of decomp formula after class.

"All the more reason you should be here," he said. "I know demons. I can sense them. I'm not going to hurt you, but that's not going to stop other demons. If you're here I can protect you better."

Phoebe squeezed his hand again.

"And who is going to protect you?"

He looked at her, confused. "Protect me? From what? And even if someone was after me, on campus is safer than in town. There's security here and everything."

Phoebe looked at him in silence for a long moment.

"I had this dream, Cole..."

"Dream? What kind of dream?"

Phoebe bit her lip and then leaned closer.

"A premonition type dream."

[demonbelthazor]

"A premonition?" he repeated. Not something he wanted to hear from her, given what he knew of Piper's powers. "About what?"

Phoebe's eyes fill with horror at the memory.

"You were hurt...badly...I couldn't save you." She swallowed. "Then they came after us."

"They? Who?"

He shook his head. "It was just a dream. That doesn't mean it's going to come true."

Phoebe still looks shaken.

"It was so real, Cole. And since we know I have that...ability..."

Premonitions plus Piper's freezing power plus telekinesis was bad. But Paige was a whitelighter and didn't have that power. Then again, there was that other sister. No, no, it had to be a coincidence. Cole went into complete denial.

"Well," he said slowly, "if you're here at the dorms and you have a premonition, you can run downstairs to help me. Can't do that if you're across town." He was quite pleased with his logic.
