Flight Club [Flight Shed]

The power was out when Gavin woke up. The power continued to be out when Gavin (possibly stupidly) started tromping over to the flight shed for the first meeting of the club for the new semester. The power remained out and thus, there was no working flight sim.

Well, bummer.

The snow continued to fall and Gavin decided just to make this a quick meeting so no one would freeze and possibly sue him.

"Uh, hey guys," he said, blowing warm air through his hands. "So, we have no power. We have no flight sim. This is only the first meeting so hopefully this gets fixed by next time. Um, we can do quick intros and then we can all go run back inside and get warm. Or, as warm as we can since there's no power."

Kriffing power.

"So, I'm Gavin. I'm a senior. I fly X-Wings back home. And I'm really kriffing cold."

He was a desert boy, he was allowed to be cold.

"Okay, anyone can go next. Name, class, what you fly if you fly and if you're cold or not."

"I could have guessed. Being cold myself," she pointed out.

"You don't feel cold," he decided. "Besides, you've got that magical tolerance."

"Yeah, if I put myself into a trance. I'd be really boring, too."

"Humph, not allowed," John shook his head. "Of course, after this I'm busy for a while, so."

"Oh? Doing what?" she wondered, tightening her arms around him for warmth while she could get it.

"Two more clubs," he frowned, rubbing his hands over her back for heat by friction. "I don't think I like Wednesdays this go round."

"At least it's something you're interested enough in to volunteer for?" she tried.

"Yeah," he shrugged. At least cheer gives me an easy means to warm up." And hopefully stay warm. Maybe.

"See? And then afterwards you'll probably have me clinging to you for warmth again," she warned.

"Now that I won't mind," he promised. "Maybe I'll even shower so you won't have to hold your nose."

"Thank you that's very king," she deadpanned.

"I'm known for my kindness in multiple universes," John replied.

"Are you? Gaining a fan club I don't know about?"

"Hey, you're from another universe," John pointed out. "So's just about everyone here. It works out in my favor."

Jaina grinned. "I may have you hanging around too many politicians."

John crinkled his nose, "I sound like a politician?"

"No, it was just an impressive twist on words," she said, rubbing his back lightly. "Nothing bad, I promise."

"Good, I wouldn't want to ruin the best twenty minutes of my day," he said, burrowing his cold nose against her shoulder.

"Day's not over," she pointed out.

"Sounds like a proposition."

"Could be," she replied easily.

"If it's not, I'll be very disappointed. I might have to write really bad poetry on the topic." No, he would never. Thank goodness.

Jaina laughed, turning to look at him. "You would have to read that out loud to me, you know."

"I warn you, it might be as bad as Vogon poetry, which trust me is really bad stuff." It was good she didn't know just how much of a dork he was.

No wonder she looked confused. "I'll take your word for that."
