Asian food was the name of the game today and Marshall was already digging into some lo mein as he waited for everyone to come into the room. He knew it was mean to start eating before everyone else but, dammit, he couldn't help himself. It was so good.

"Okay guys, if you couldn't already tell from the funky smell, we're covering food from the far east today," he said once everybody had come in. "You know how you probably shouldn't eat stuff that smells funny? This is the one exception where it's okay to do so. Bok choy smells nasty but it's delicious."

"Back in the day the only kind of Asian food you could get readily was Chinese. It's delicious, don't get me wrong, but variety is the spice of life. We as a nation were very glad when Thai, Japanese, Cantonese, Vietnamese...all sorts of -ese's started popping up in cities," he said. "Nowadays even small towns have a good Thai restaurant. Which is good because I love Pad Thai. Those people do great things with peanuts."

Marshall pointed at the buffet table, which had fried rice, sushi, all kinds of noodles, sweet and sour pork, egg rolls, tom yam and all sorts of other ~~moddable~~ food from the east Asian countries. And, of course, there were fortune cookies for dessert. "So, here's the food. I swear that whole "cooking up dogs and cats" thing is a rumor. I think. This stuff is safe."

He thought it was safe, anyway. Could be no real way of knowing.

"So dig in! First dibs on the fortune cookies!" Marshall practically yelled. He wanted his pick of fortunes, dammit.

Another shrug, and a better attempt at smiling. "It just would've been nice if some of the calls I got actually were for me."

Hurley tilted his head. "Huh?"

She wasn't about to go into details, but, "I'm glad the Angry Lesbian wasn't yelling at me, but there were a couple that I wouldn't have minded getting for real."

Hurley thought for a second. "You didn't get one about being naked at the Onsen, did you?"

Francine's eyes opened wide. "Noooo! And I'm pretty sure that one wasn't meant for me either."

"Oh, I know the context for that one now, and it's not anything dirty, that's all," Hurley said. "Sorry it bummed you out, though."

"Aww, thanks." Francine twirled noodles around her fork. "Anyway I did get good news that was really mine too - my BFF got a job on the radio!"

"That's awesome," Hurley said. "...who's your BFF?"

"Ka--" Right, most people didn't call her that. "--tina. Choovanski? She read the news with Lackey, the lady from the diner."

"I don't think I've met her," Hurley said. "But she must be cool if you're friends with her."

Francine smiled. "Thanks. Now all I have to do is get my mom to agree with you, and I'm set for life.""

"Man, if your mom is anything like mine, I... wish you luck," Hurley said.
