Never one to shy away from getting her hands dirty in the tedious work of helping a student body run nice and smooth ~~not dirty~~, Turtle had been very eager to help set up the club fair again this semester, putting up all the signs and posters and little treats on Westing Paper Products. The Club Schedule was very prominently displayed were everyone could see it before disappearing into the small maze of tables filling in the gym.

That, and it also helped her hold off the inevitable moment of seeing how this whole laundry strike thing was really effecting Jeff. Ahhhh, manual labor, the true opiate of the work-addicted masses.

Listening to radio made the list of possibilities short. "Am I gonna be seeing more of you down at my end of the hall?" Or would that be hearing?

More blushing. "Maybe."

John's eyes sparkled with potential happiness for his friend. "You maybe taken her out yet?"

"To the Homecoming dance, you mean?"

Oh, Ben.

"That was...months ago," John said. "So no. Someplace where you can do something together without running into a ton of people. But I do approve of dancing." He liked dancing dates a lot.

Ben gave him a look of incomprehension.

Jedi didn't really date, no.

"Like what?"

"Well, I've taken dates to the movies in the park, to museums, to the beach," John offered. "There's also stuff like playing pool or going bowling. Just something fun and not work-related."

Ben was nodding, looking a little freaked out. "What if she says no?"

"She won't say no," John shook his head. "Unless she's messing with you, but you're a Jedi. You can figure that out easy enough."

~~Besides, she'd never say no to her ex's son!~~

Ben smiled. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure she likes me. Empathy comes in handy sometimes. But it doesn't mean I can't completely screw this up. I'm a Skywalker."

"Well, not trying to ask her on a date will probably screw it up," John answered. "Also, you'd have fun, too." And Ben definitely deserved it.

"I'll give it a try," Ben promised. "But if it goes badly, I'm blaming you."
