The Club Fair; Gym; Friday Afternoon [ 01/16 ].

Never one to shy away from getting her hands dirty in the tedious work of helping a student body run nice and smooth not dirty, Turtle had been very eager to help set up the club fair again this semester, putting up all the signs and posters and little treats on Westing Paper Products. The Club Schedule was very prominently displayed were everyone could see it before disappearing into the small maze of tables filling in the gym.

That, and it also helped her hold off the inevitable moment of seeing how this whole laundry strike thing was really effecting Jeff. Ahhhh, manual labor, the true opiate of the work-addicted masses.

[[ Each Most clubs will have two threads: a promotion table for interaction with the club head(s) and an OOC sign up sheet to join the club. There is an exception, as Fandom High Gremlins is an audition club; please sign up to audition rather than to simply be in the club ]]

"Is that a robot or something?" Claire asked, glancing up at Katina.

Brilliant questions were apparently her specialty.

Clocky screeched to a halt at the question and chirped expectantly at Katchoo, who nearly tripped over it before she turned to Claire.

"Nah. It just wishes it was. It's my alarm clock, and it's a long story."

Bzzzzt! was Clocky's response. It wasn't that long a story.

"And it listens to you," Claire said, looking a little (heh) alarmed. "It's not, like, about to go on strike, is it?"

Clocky beeped at Claire and rotated a little from side to side -- which was a disturbingly credible imitation of a headshake.

"Nah," Katchoo said wearily. "It already has fun driving me crazy every day . . . why are all these people in here?"

"Um, club fair?" Claire told her, startled she hadn't noticed. "This is the art club table, and, like, music's over there, the frat is down there, the surprisingly not-blonde table there is cheerleading."

"I'm still not sure what we have to cheer for," Katchoo said, squinting down toward the cheerleading table. "But if it makes 'em happy, I guess."

Another look around the room, and she shrugged and rubbed at the back of her head. "I wasn't exactly paying attention to the announcements; I really just followed the damn clock here."

"Maybe they're just overjoyed by the fun that is high school," Claire said flatly. "The alarm clock led you here? You're lucky he, it, she, didn't make you walk into the pool or something."

"Aw, crap, don't give it ideas," Katchoo groaned. "Damn thing is driving me insane."

Clocky tweeted proudly, then nudged Katchoo in the ankle.

"Hey, knock it off!" To Claire she added, "So you're running this thing?"

"Me and Ms. Aldrin, yeah," Claire confirmed. "'cause there's not a class this time and it seemed like something to do." She gave Katina a speculative look. "I remember your stuff from class being pretty good."

"Yeah?" It wasn't an expression of surprise or hopefulness as much as a half-idle, noncommittal response. And then something occurred to her. "Oh, wait . . . do you seriously think I look like club material?"

"You're wearing leather and you smell like smoke," Claire pointed out. "That's totally artsier than my grandma sweater."

"Ha!" Katchoo snorted, and smirked just a bit. "If you'd told me something like 'Because you should develop your talent even if there aren't any classes' I would've said no."

Claire laughed. "God, no, I told Ms. Aldrin that so she'd sponsor? But really it's just about hanging out and making stuff. I don't want it to be all professional or anything."

"So does that mean you're saying yes?" She wiggled the sign-up sheet a little, hopefully.

Well, it'd be a change of pace from painting in her room or in the rec room, and besides, Clocky kept bopping her in the ankle.

"What the hell," Katchoo conceded. "But if there's sleepovers I'm so out of there, you know."
