Never one to shy away from getting her hands dirty in the tedious work of helping a student body run nice and smooth ~~not dirty~~, Turtle had been very eager to help set up the club fair again this semester, putting up all the signs and posters and little treats on Westing Paper Products. The Club Schedule was very prominently displayed were everyone could see it before disappearing into the small maze of tables filling in the gym.

That, and it also helped her hold off the inevitable moment of seeing how this whole laundry strike thing was really effecting Jeff. Ahhhh, manual labor, the true opiate of the work-addicted masses.

"Only if you want to." She grinned at him. "It's not a requirement for the guys."

"But you're saying I could." Priestly nodded happily. "You got a lot of guys on the squad?"

"John, Chad, Hannibal and Sam. Robin is our mascot."

"Do they have to do the flippy stuff?" Priestly demonstrated said 'flippy stuff' with his hands. These were all very important questions.

"They can if they want. Mostly, they throw and catch us girls."

"Soooooo the prerequisite for guy cheerleaders is to be able to pick girls up?"

Savannah laughed. "Not exactly. You have to dhow up for practices, stretch and work out, and be able to take part in routines. Lifting us and tossing us in the air is part of the routine structure."

Hmmm. "There any hair requirements?" He gestured vaguely at his mohawk.

She shook her head. "None at all."

Priestly grinned. "Sweet!" He tilted his head at her. "You think I should try out?"

She nodded with a grin. "Yes, I do."

"Well then. I guess I'll sign up."

"Awesome!" Savannah was bouncy as she handed him the clipboard to sign up.

Oooo, bounciness.

What? He was a guy. She was a cute girl in a cheerleading uniform. Priestly took the clipboard and quickly scribbled his last name on it.

He hoped first names weren't a prerequisite.

She beamed at him. "We'll announce the date of try-outs soon." She was pretty sure he'd get on the team with no problem.

"Sweet." Priestly beamed back. Man, his mother would probably pass out in horror and his father would definitely freak out and lock him up if they knew their football-player-gone-weirdo-punk son was talking about trying out for cheerleading.

Which, you know, was reason enough for Priestly.

He handed the clipboard back. "So, you guys really have co-ed sleepovers?"

And there was the other reason he was so cheerful about this.

Savannah laughed and nodded. "Yes, we really do. The squad is pretty close."

"Do those include, like, pillow fights in your underwear?"

Savannah gave him an impish grin. "You'll just have to wait and see."

"I wouldn't just be there to ogle," Priestly assured her. "I'd also totally be willing to be ogled."

Wow, he said that without blushing visibly. He was proud of himself!

Savannah giggled. "I like you."

"Thanks!"

She grinned. "You're going to enjoy the squad, Priestly."

"You say that like I'm already on it."

"Even if you don't make the squad, you'll still like the people you meet. We're all very friendly."
