Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

How did they keep this place so ~~dazzling~~ nice for these big parties? It was a question for the ages.

But you know what isn't? The fact that there were yet more tables and places to mingle!

"Third time too." Marco said smugly. "Apparently, saving the world is a big thing, even a year later." Actually, the fact that it was exactly a year later was why it was a big thing.

"Did you go crazy and jump on the couch?"

Turtle would possibly pay to see that.

Marco gave her a look. "I'm not Tom Cruise who is apparently crazy no matter what world you go to." He paused. "Except now I think I'm more like than Arnold Schwarzenegger to get elected governor of California and that's just sad. All those good Terminator jokes..." He shook his head. "Well, my agents did want me to come on stage first as a gorilla, but after I explained to them that would mean I'd be half naked on stage and there would be two minutes of very gross looking transformation, they decided that human was fine."

"Eeeeeewwwwwwwwww," Turtle said between a lot of giggles.

"Which part?" Marco said, his grin set to full power.

"All of it," Turtle said, and, just to be a brat, added, "Especially the half naked part. No one needs to see that, Marco."

Marco mock pouted. "And here I was thinking that the was the best part. And the part where I'm thinking of running for governor of California."

"I'd support you on your campaign for governor of California," Turtle offered, nodding a bit. "Totally. But the Govenator you ain't."

Marco was seriously considering this. ~~As was his mun. Uh oh.~~ "Think you can be convinced to work for me?"

"Depends on how well you pay."

Marco gave her a Look. "Turtle. You're still in charge of handling a good chunk of my finances. I think you know that I'm pretty much guaranteed to pay well."

"Hey," Turtle said, "first rule of business is to never go in without knowing which cards are in the deck."

Marco held up his hands in surrender. "But you really should know better with me."

"I'm just making sure!" Turtle said. "And I was partly joking, anyway. I'd love to work for you."

There was a pause.

"I need a good challenge."

Marco shook his head. "Turtle, Turtle, Turtle. I am currently one of the most popular people on the planet. I saved all of man kind and was snarky while doing so. Everyone loves me." Except the crazy religious nuts who tried to kill him, but they don't count.

"Marco, Marco, Marco," Turtle shook her head right back. "Did Oprah suck out your ability to take a joke?"

Marco's next comment was lost as his brain went somewhere weird. "Oprah is not a vampire in any world that I know of." He finally said.

"Maybe she's just really good at hiding it."

"Oprah is not a vampire!" Marco repeated, now with flailing.

Was Marco actually taking her seriously?

"I demand proof!"

"I'm sure she's been seen in the day time." It was best not to ask when Marco's brain ran amok.

"Not all vampires have to stay in the night," Turtle pointed out. "She could be a Daywalker."

Yes, she dropped the last word down into a deep, ominous pitch.

Marco snorted. "Right. You do realize that there probably is a universe where Oprah is a vampire?"

"At least you finally admit it. That's what I've been saying all along."

"That Oprah is a vampire somewhere?"
