Library [12/18]

Sam had been in a rush this morning and hadn't had time to get breakfast, so he was pleasantly surprised when he came in and found some flatbread on the main desk.

Of course, as he looked around and spotted flatbread all over the library, the surprise became much less pleasant.

Sam made sure there weren't any books that needed to be checked in, and went around to start collecting the bread as well as he could.

Sam was grateful for his height for once, because it meant he didn't need to get a stool to get the pieces of bread stuck in the top shelves.

Sam found a few pieces of bread he'd missed in the desk, and set them with the rest.

For some reason, Sam wasn't quite as hungry for lunch as usual. Still, he was hoping Dean would show up so he could hear about his trip.

Sam gave up on bread collecting, and was perched at the desk with a book.

Since he'd pretty much spent all day cleaning, Sam's last sweep through the library was probably going to be quick.

"So I guess sandwiches are kinda passe today, huh?" Dean commented as he came in and took his usual seat, moving more flatbread out of the way to do so.

"Just a little, yeah," Sam said, smirking. "So, you made it back in one piece. Did you have fun while you were away?"

"Totally," Dean said. "Not a bad place, even if they do use horses instead of cars."

"Clearly, you need to introduce them to mechanical horsepower," Sam teased.

"I did mention that to a few people, yeah." He tossed a small package over the desk to Sammy. "Some local sweets."

"Really?" Sam grinned and took the package. "You didn't keep them all for yourself?"

Dean gave him a hurt look. "When haven't I shared with you?"

"I'm not ungrateful," Sam said quickly, shifting away from Dean. "I'm really not. Thank you."

"That's better," Dean said, seeming mollified. "We need to work on your gift receiving ettiquette there Sammy."

"We can work on it at Christmas," Sam said. "If nothing shows up on the island to steal our presents, that is."

"We'd just kick its green butt like we did last year," Dean said, waving a confident hand airily.

"I envy your ability to not worry about anything, I really do," Sam said.
