The Danger Shop was ready and waiting for the young, strapping men of Kappa Kappa Gremlin to get their Shirtless Calendar action on.

Meaning John had gotten access to the room and brought a 2-liter and some cheese puffs along for the ride.

See? Legendary set up. He only hoped the fake snow wasn't actually cold.

Where should the photographer's assistant be? Or should I hold off on tagging Claire in until Ben's player can answer that one?

The assistant should be wherever you want. I'm going to ping Ben into the mingling thread to establish him setting up, so that might be a good place to start. After that, though, feel free to scamper about!
