Care for Magical Creatures; Period One. [ 11/24 ]

"Good morning, younglings!" Minsc greeted the class in his usual manner, and they would find the danger shop set up to be very droll and boring and classroom like. "I have given it some careful thought and I was thinking that next week, we will indeed be working with dragons! But, first, I need you to hand in your reports I asked for last week and, this week, I'd like you to pick out a partner! Talk with this partner about what you learned and, next week, you will work with this person with your dragons so choose wisely!"

"If anyone has any concerns or allergies regarding dragons, please let me know before next week!"

Mac wasn't entirely sure about this dragon business, but was still there, and looking out for a partner to work with on this.

Ella wasn't any more certain about dragons than Mac was, and she looked very dubious indeed about the proposition.

"Would you like to work together?"

"Works for me," she replied, shooting the other girl a quick smile. "I'm Mac."

"Ella," Ella returned. "And this will be my first encounter with a dragon, so I'm a little nervous."

"Last ones I saw were the jello ones," Mac said, pulling a face. "I stayed well out the way."

"I don't think anyone has ever mentioned those to me," Ella said thoughtfully. "Did people eat them?"

"I guess that would've been one way to deal with it," Mac said with an amused smirk. "But I think people were mostly freaking over the fact they were attacking them."

Ella went a little paler at that. "Oh, dear," she said earnestly. "I can't imagine jello attacking. I hope the ones Professor Minsc has for us don't attack."

"So do I," Mac said with feeling. She wasn't all that good when things attacked. Or at all good.

"Maybe there's a nice calm dragon type we can ask for?"

Ella was okay when things attacked, as long as they didn't talk at her. Unfortunately, she was pretty sure at least some dragons were talky.

"We should definitely try that."

Marco was there, having one thought on dragon handling.

"Hi do you need a partner?"

Chris had a feeling this could go spectacularly bad... but he looked for a partner anyway.

"Hey you."

Sam was a little nervous about dealing with dragons, but he was trying not to show it as he looked around for a partner.

Helen sat next to him. "Would you like a partner?"

"Sure," Sam said. "How's it going?"

Helen shrugged. "Well, enough. And you."

"Pretty well. I'm looking forward to the break," Sam replied.

"Oh, will you be - no, I forgot, your family is here," she said quickly. "I... am not quite certain what I'll do with all the free time."

"The cheerleaders are going to be doing something for everyone who's staying," Sam said. "You should come check it out."

"Perhaps I will," Helen said uncertainly.

Molly looked around for a partner, but had her notes all ready.

"My basic advice for dragon handling," Harry offered, "is don't do it. What've you got?"
