Cooking Club [Home Ec Classroom, Thursday, 1pm]

After last week's food fight, Ned had decided to go with something a little more traditional this time around.

"Hey guys," he greeted once everyone had filed in. "Welcome back, thanks for coming. I hope you all had fun with the food fight and, if you got messy, I hope you got cleaned up afterward. Thanks for playing and all. Um, today we're gonna concentrate on meals on the go. We're all students so I'm sure we all can't sit down to extravagantly cooked meals every night."

Ned gestured to a table of moddable ingredients and supplies. "I went through and picked up things for sandwiches, Hamburger Helper, rice with various gravies, soups, fish sticks, hot dogs, hamburgers, and microwaveable pizzas. What I want you guys to do today is find the quickest thing that tastes the best."

Ned gestured to the table again. "So, let's see how fast we can find something really good."

Hurley chuckled.

"This is why we need a Mister Cluck's in town," he said.

"That like a fast-food chicken place?" Chad guessed; he felt it was a pretty good guess. If it wasn't, he wasn't sure he wanted to be corrected on it, either.

"Yeah," Hurley said. "I worked there, like, all summer. Pretty good chicken, too."

"Definitely no shortage of good take-out places here, though," Chad pointed out, knowing all too well because yesterday was Wednesday, which meant that today, he was still working on digesting a smorgasborg of a little bit from almost every place on the islands.

Man, he loved Wednesdays.

"Yeah, I know," Hurley said. "I just... like chicken."

"You know," Chad noted, "now I'm really kind of hungry for it." Which was ironic, considering that there was certainly no lack of food around them at the moment.

It almost looked like Wednesday nights.

Hurley chuckled. "Sorry, dude. Didn't mean to... give you cravings."

Hinata... sort of figured that you didn't get much quicker than a rations bar, but those weren't exactly the best tasting.

She contemplated her options.

"This should be easy enough," he muttered good naturedly, mostly to himself of course, but a smile was sent out to the group in general.

Hurley went for a microwave burrito. A delicious bean and cheese product concoction.

Yeah, it was all easy stuff, but it was all stuff Chad imagined he'd be making a lot starting next year, so he figured the practise wouldn't hurt.

Liir picked a few items, including vegetables and things that could keep well "on the go" and started in figuring out how to make it taste good as well as be portable.

No, but considering I totally read that link as "Hamburgler Helper" about five times, it should be, darn it.
