Care for Magical Creatures; Period One. [ 11/10 ]

Today was a very exciting day for the class, indeed, as today was the day that their eggs were going to hatch! The danger shop classroom was stocked to the teeth with anything at all that might need to be available, from things to feed the little creatures with to weapons just in case they do end up quite hostile to flame retardant cloaks and squeaky little chew toys!

"Good morning, class!" Minsc greeted them. "Please go and care for your egg until they hatch and be prepared for whatever may come out! I have no better idea than you, so today should be a very interesting class! Be prepared for anything, as such is the way with magical creatures!"

Helen gasped, hands ready to catch the egg should it topple. her eyes were bright and she held her breath, waiting to see what would emerge.

The fog did clear a little, but some still remained, as it seemed to be issuing from the creatures inside rather steadily. Wrapped in each other's wings for comfort, there were three fog dragons, looking a little disturbed as the air started clearing around them, blinking toward Helen with literally cloudy eyes.

"Oh, how beautiful," she breathed. Helen held out her cupped hands carefully as a place for them to rest should they so desire.

The dragons, dully, seemed to consider both Helen and her hand for a moment. The looked at each other, and then one of them decided to be the bold on, stepping forward only after he emitted a bit of fog to cloud him as he moved to the new territory.

"Aren't you the brave one," she said softly. "Come along you two, join your brother here."

The other two just watched, slowly releasing a bit more fog as if to protect themselves better in case anything should suddenly happen, though the one in Helen's hand settled in quite comfortably.

Helen reached out one careful finger to stroke the bold one, even as she kept a good eye on the other two, hoping they'd feel safe enough to come join the first.

"Aren't you the pretty one," she said softly and sang a little to them of the songs she'd sung to the egg.

Recognizing the song, the dragon happily closed its eyes, letting out little puffs of smoke as he enjoyed the attention he was getting for being braver than the others.

Helen smiled delightedly. She turned her attention to the other two, slowly moving the hand with the brave dragon a little closer as she sang coaxingly to them.

The other two exchanged looks again, and then looked back at Helen. They seemed to decide that they were just going to stay put, for now, until they were absolutely sure, or until maybe there was something a little more in it,while the other one stretched out its wings happily, and settled in. They decided that they weren't going to be so easy to please.

Helen reached for some meat to offer them, feeding the brave one first and then the other two.
