Care for Magical Creatures; Period One. [ 11/10 ]

Today was a very exciting day for the class, indeed, as today was the day that their eggs were going to hatch! The danger shop classroom was stocked to the teeth with anything at all that might need to be available, from things to feed the little creatures with to weapons just in case they do end up quite hostile to flame retardant cloaks and squeaky little chew toys!

"Good morning, class!" Minsc greeted them. "Please go and care for your egg until they hatch and be prepared for whatever may come out! I have no better idea than you, so today should be a very interesting class! Be prepared for anything, as such is the way with magical creatures!"

Moving was good! Mac assumed that it was, anyway. Still, her hand retreated a few inches, just in case. You couldn't quite be sure whether what came out was going to bite or not.

She really hoped not.

The crack spread and started to open, but then all the progress seemed to halt. There was a scratching sound, followed by a little whimper, and then a small, high-pitched barking sound.

That was the thing with some of these creatures; they weren't all meant to break out of eggs, so the wee tiny cerberus inside was having a little difficulty getting through, although not for lack of trying.

Mac waited a moment, until she was sure it wasn't going to manage getting out on its own, and then proceeded to try and help it out widening the crack with her fingers.

It sounded cute, which was a good start.

There was one happy little yip from inside, echoed by two others, and all three heads started happily licking the fingers that were helping.

Oh, not bitey! That gave Mac reason to relax, and a slight bit more incentive to help it... (them?) out.

Even though she wasn't really a cutesy coo-ing sort of girl, Mac couldn't help but give an, "Aww, hey."

Three little puppy heads emerged; the one in the center let out a triumphant sort of yip, and the others followed in kind, before, with the ungainliness of a newly hatched creature, it attempted to get its single body out of the egg, and took a little tumble.

Okay, Mac was officially a fan of her egg now. It was adorable!

She reached out to pet the little three headed dog. The cuteness deserved 'welcome out of your egg' skritches.

While one head shook in an attempt to get over the fumble, the other two suddenly noticed the hand and kept nudging the other away from it, vying for the most pets fro Mac.

Mac tried to give one hand to each for petting, but it wasn't that easy when it came to something with three heads.

"You're gonna have to figure out how to share," she told them after a moment.

Sharing, it seemed to the cerberus, was for losers, considering that now it was rolling around, paws batting at one head or the other, little nips exchanged as best as they could be without awareness that what one did to the other, he was technically doing to himself.

Mac was kind of sad they didn't get to keep these little guys now as she watched them tumble around. She was officially referring to them in multiple.

Although, lets face it, Poe would be highly unimpressed. Still.

She was happy to sit here and give belly rubs. They couldn't really not share that one.
