Flight Club [Flight Shed, 2pm]

It was Wednesday so that meant it was time for Flight Club again. It was one of Gavin's favorite parts of the week because he got to fly even if it was in a sim. Flying was flying.

"Hey everyone," he greeted. "So, we've looked at a ship from my world and a few ships from this world. Today, I thought I'd let you guys have an easy day by setting up the sim to fly to your choice of ship whether it be from home or something else you've experienced. This will let everyone here see what it's like in action and it'll keep you familiar with what you like to fly."

He gestured to the sim. "First up?"

John hadn't expected Jaina to look okay when he saw her. He actually lifted his sunglasses to make sure he wasn't seeing things, but light hurt and that didn't last long.

He was, however, relieved.

She looked over at him, frowning and gesturing her eyes in the universal 'huh?' gesture.

He replied with the universal sign for drinking and leaned back against the wall.

She wandered over, mirroring his position- albeit shorter- and asked, "Bad night, huh?"

"More painful now, actually," John admitted. "How're you?"

She shrugged. "Spent most of the morning making sure no one ran my squadron into the ground while my back was turned." Like there was a possibility of that.

"Because that's likely," he teased, wondering if it was going to be up to him to tell her Ben's news. If so, it was going to be a while.

"You never know, I could have a clawcraft squadron on my hands now," she teased back.

He glanced down at her, "That wouldn't be an improvement?"

She gaped at him. "The only reason you're not getting hit right now is because I'm nice." No she wasn't.

Since he didn't have to move away from hitting he moved to sling an arm around her instead. "Very nice."

"Even if I'm not going to offer to take away the hangover."

Pilot pride ran deep, yo.

"Maybe you're not nice."

"Hey, who insulted my squadron?" she countered. She'd probably cave. Probably.

"The only guy who doesn't get to be in it." Whiny much, John?

She threw him a sideways look, almost like it hadn't occurred to her, even though on some level she knew it had. "You want to be in it?"

He shrugged. "I realize I'm probably not qualified, but I'm working on it." Which was why he was here, after all.

Jaina paused, trying to bury down the absolute fear at the thought of him following her into battle, and said, "There's flight school involved, you know. There's stuff all pilots have to do before they even put you in for consideration for a squadron."

"Think a goddess could help a guy get a spot in school?" Maybe it wasn't the sort of school he was supposed to be trying to get into, but he really liked the idea.

Well, there was that part about not wanting to see her boyfriend get shot at and possibly blown up, especially under her command, and especially somewhere not under her command where she wouldn't know right away. "Are you serious about this?"

He was oddly serious, actually. Maybe it was the hangover. "Well, the way I figure it, it's either yours now or mine in the near future."

"Yeah, but you're not at wa-" Okay, yes they were. She did keep up with things sometimes. "It's not quite the same thing."

"Not exactly," he agreed, though it was still war and he had to wait until January for that. "Consider it for me?"

On one hand, she didn't want him doing it. On the other, he knew enough of the higher ups that he might not need her help with that first step, regardless of what she thought. And considering she kept telling him to do what he actually wanted to do, she couldn't exactly tell him no.

Really, really slowly, she nodded. "I'll consider it."

"That's all I ask," he smiled and gave her arm a squeeze. "What're you planning on flying today?"
