StuCo Meeting (Friday, Lunch)

Nathan had pizza and a selection of candy for anyone who felt like getting into the Halloween spirit.

"Great job with Parent's Weekend," Nathan told them all. "Now you have more flexibility. Talk about something you'd like the Student Council to do and see if you can form a plan to implement it. This might be a good time to try to put in motion one of your ideas from your campaign. I'm here if you have any questions."

"Spirit week?" Lee suggested. "I read about those on the internet."

"What's a spirit week?" Ino asked. "Do we all dress up as ghosts for a week?"

What? It made as much sense as anything else to her.

"Well, if we had a ghost day, sure," Lee said and smiled, "but it's where each day is labeled something different. Like Monday is stupid hat day, Tuesday is pajamas day, Wednesday is boys dress as girls and vice versa day and so son."

"Oooooh," she said thoughtfully. "I like that a lot."

"Spirit week is always fun. We did it every year at my old school," Harvey said. "We had stuff like twin day, hillbilly day, stuff like that."

"Maybe we could do that in conjunction with the cheerleading squad," Joan suggested.

"I've been meaning to mention this for a while now," Turtle said, "but we've been so busy with homecoming and Parents' Weekend. But, seriously. We have got to do something about gym uniforms, you guys."

"What about something for the winter holidays?" Joan asked. "A multi-cultural festival, maybe? Learn about the different holidays that are celebrated in the winter?"

Turtle grinned a little at Joan's suggestion. "It'll be really interesting," she said, "to see if there are any really different winter celebrations in the worlds that aren't like this one."

Joan nodded and grinned back. "It really would. Though I wonder how we'd quantify winter in some places that don't have the same kind of seasons we do."

"Cold snowy seasons?" Turtle said thoughtfully. "I know not everywhere has cold, snowy seasons, but that could be a nice way to categorize the event."

"That's not even true on Earth though," Joan pointed out. "At least not in the Southern Hemisphere. Is there some common theme in the major winter holidays?"

"Just religion," Turtle said after a moment, "which is probably best avoided because they're all different religions. I think we're safer going with weather to avoid offense than that."

She debated between the pizza and the candy for a few minutes before choosing the pizza. Candy could be had later after all.

...pizza and fangs were an interesting combination.

Dressed up already as an eighteenth century lady, Turtle was careful not not spill anything or get any pizza on her nice dress.
